Network Engineer Jobs

JOB DESCRIPTION:

1. Looking for experienced person(s) with experience in a Service Provider 'core' environment.
2. CISCO and Juniper Layer 3 devices
3. CISCO ME Switches and Juniper QFX & EFX
4. Local Prem Equip/CPE - RAD, ADVA, CISCO 920
5. Experience with Alcatel 7210 and 7750 and various cell tower backhaul equipment
6. Everyday tasks would be extensive work in Service Provider level networking equipment (Ex. Cisco 7600 series, Juniper MX 960, etc)
7. Establishes networking environment by designing system configuration; directing system installation; defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards.
8. Maximizes network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with network architects on network optimization.
9. Secures network system by establishing and enforcing policies; defining and monitoring access.
10. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
11. Accomplishes information systems and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
12. Reporting network operational status by gathering, prioritizing information; managing projects.
13. This would also require intermediate to advanced understanding of OSI model layer 1, layer 2, and layer 3 to perform day to day duties required for the position.
14. Intermediate Data Networking Knowledge (OSI Model, TCP/IP, Optical Networking)
15. Ability to work in a team environment
16. Intermediate knowledge of related industry specifications and standards IEEE, ANSI, Fiber (Multi-mode, Single-mode, UTP, etc.), Bridging, Switching, Routing, Ethernet and Transport technologies and protocols
17. Knowledge in network design, network architecture, protocols and network topology
18. Intermediate knowledge in using ticketing and software tools (Granite) to support the current operations
19. Intermediate Knowledge of basic network devices and basic network appliances
20. Ability to perform duties in a very fast paced environment and learn new technology quickly
21. Bachelor's Degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience
22. Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) preferred but not required
