You'll work closely with various departments, ensuring consistent implementation of the 110 security controls specified within NIST 800-171.
**Responsibilities**:
- Implement and maintain NIST 800-171 standards, ensuring protection of CUI in line with federal requirements.
- Evaluate existing IT infrastructure, suggesting and executing improvements to align with the 14 security control families in NIST 800-171.
- Develop, update, and enforce policies and procedures in alignment with NIST 800-171 guidelines, fostering a secure and compliant environment.
- Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and audits, maintaining adherence to NIST standards.
- Collaborate across departments to enhance awareness and training around NIST 800-171 requirements and cybersecurity best practices.
- Monitor, report, and continuously assess the effectiveness of IT security controls, highlighting any risk-taking or risk-adverse options.
- Provide technical support on security-related issues, alongside general IT tasks such as networking and systems administration.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 1-2 years of hands-on experience with NIST 800-171, including understanding of the unique requirements in the defense sector.
- Strong analytical skills, familiarity with security tools, and proficiency in problem-solving and communication.
- Relevant industry certifications (Security+, CISSP, etc.) are desirable.
