Job Summary
Reporting to the Vice President, Information Technology, the Virtual Meetings and IT Support Specialist will work closely with GNYHA’s dynamic IT team to provide wide-ranging support for the organization’s technology infrastructure. In addition, this role will provide assistance in managing internal and member-facing virtual meetings, working under the guidance of the Assistant Director, Virtual Meetings and Special Events. By delivering dependable and effective IT services and virtual support, the Junior IT Support Specialist will actively contribute to the department's mission of ensuring a seamless technology experience.
Responsibilities:
- Basic IT Helpdesk Support: Resolve basic helpdesk issues promptly and efficiently. This includes troubleshooting software and hardware problems and assisting with password resets. Ensure all helpdesk tickets are properly logged and closed once issues are resolved.
- Meeting Room Technology Maintenance: Manage and update meeting room technology, ensuring all systems are up-to-date and functional. This includes performing regular system updates, troubleshooting issues, and addressing any user concerns.
- Virtual Meeting Support: Provide comprehensive support for all virtual meetings. This includes scheduling, hosting, and managing virtual meetings, as well as troubleshooting any technical issues that may arise during these meetings. Ensure that all participants have the necessary access and resources.
- Documentation: Document all procedures related to technology support. This includes creating user guides and other training materials, as well as logging system updates and resolved issues.
- Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with team members and other stakeholders. This includes explaining technical information in a way that non-technical individuals can understand, as well as escalating complex issues to senior IT staff when necessary.
Required Qualifications:
- Ability to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues, including with remote troubleshooting techniques and tools.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- At least 1 year of professional experience in IT support, virtual meeting support, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of computer systems, computer networks, and mobile devices.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and tools.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Adapts effectively to fast-paced environments, demonstrating composure and the ability to handle unexpected situations
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft 365 products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Proficient with Zoom and other video conferencing tools, including the ability to troubleshoot common issues.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Possesses relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft, ITIL, Google)
Salary Range: $35,000 - $45,000

Work Schedule: A hybrid model with the expectation to work physically in our office Tuesdays and Wednesdays as mandatory in-office days with a third in-office day at your discretion, in conjunction with your supervisor and the business needs of your department. This schedule may be subject to change in GNYHA’s sole discretion.
