It Support Specialist I

Overview

The IT Support Specialist I will be primarily in person and may often require phone and other forms of remote support. The position is familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on direction from management and peers to accomplish goals.

The position performs a variety of tasks in and related to the field of technical support. They will work as an individual and as a member of a team under the guidance of the manager and/or supervisor. Working with supervision and attention to detail is essential to the success of the position.

Responsibilities:

• Provide documentation regarding steps taken to resolve issues and fulfill requests in the form of incident diary entries and department status reports.
• Act as a team member on departmental projects, including, but not limited to, large scale software/hardware upgrades/migrations.
• Provide effective end user hardware and software support.
• Provide limited training of end users.

Skills and Abilities:

• Strong Customer Service skills are required
• Organizational, Verbal, and written communication skills a plus
• Networking principles including routing, switching, and wireless communications
• Strong skills in troubleshooting the following: Windows 7/10, Microsoft Office Suite, MacOS, iOS, Internet applications, third party applications

Education:

• Associates Degree or equivalent work experience required

Licenses/Certification/Registration:

• A+ Certification, or equivalent certification relevant to PC support
