Minimum Starting Salary:
Computer Support Specialist I: $18.93 to $24.14 per hour, depending on qualifications
Computer Support Specialist II: $19.99 to $25.49 per hour, depending on qualifications
Nature of Work:
Performs technical work in receiving, analyzing, troubleshooting, and referring calls from employees with problems associated with information technology (IT), including personal computers (PCs), peripherals, communications, networks, software, and external services. Completes technical job functions and answers technical questions. Logs support calls, obtaining essential information from clients in order to solve problems and guiding them through performing specific tasks. If not able to assist the client, process the call for service to the next support level. Responsible for receiving of hardware deliveries, updating projects, transfer of equipment and inventory maintenance. Performs setup, deliveries and support of mobile devices. The incumbent is expected to call upon their working knowledge of applications, communication services, personal computing (PC) devices, and awareness of the City's organizational structure and procedures. Provide on-call IT support for nights, weekends, and holidays. Work is performed under the supervision of the Desktop Support Supervisor and is reviewed through examination of system data, logs, effectiveness of results achieved, and feedback from clients and coworkers.
