Why does the job exist?

This end user support position is provided to customers in-person, via telephone, email, and self-service portal using remote tools to troubleshoot, analyze, diagnose, and resolve hardware and software incidents and service requests. This position is expected to work within a Service Management Platform, accepting, documenting, and completing tasks that are assigned to their service area. This position resolves service requests including network outages, computer failures, and server crashes. This position installs, configures, and maintains software on servers, workstations, and network infrastructure components within every division. This position is expected to participate as a team member on enterprise-level technical projects, accepting tasks and providing relevant results. This position supports systems that serve the programs that NM residents are dependent upon. This position will be responsible for maintaining workstations and peripherals required for operations at all ECECD locations statewide.

How does it get done?

Provides daily technical support for desktops, printers, peripherals, telephone systems and mobile devices. Maintains and assists in user management. Assists with computer imaging and deployment. Installs, configures and maintains Office 365 software suite, web applications, and software drivers. Identify, manage and resolve issues in a timely manner. Responds to customer requests effectively and professionally. Communicates clearly to address issues.

This position supports all ECECD users.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have one (1) year of experience or Education and training in the following: providing end user support, customer service, problem solving skills, and ability to organize and prioritize tasks.

Minimum Qualification

High School Diploma or Equivalent and one (1) years of experience in providing technical support to end-users for computer hardware, software, and/or network related problems. Substitutions Apply. See Substitution Table below.

Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending, and reaching may be required. Direct client interaction and some travel may be required.
