Position Summary

The College of Pharmacy actively seeks an in-person employee with strong collaboration and planning skills who will help us fulfill our role within the UNM Health System. Duties and responsibilities for the COP IT Support Technician include:

  • Maintain the inventory and surplus equipment.
  • Work with the Cascade Server and DNN Content Management System to make changes to our websites.
  • This position is expected to work 15 hours per week.
  • Add users to Active Directory security groups.
  • Adding/removing and troubleshooting various software packages used at the college.
  • Use the HSC Cherwell ticketing system to fulfill IT support requests.
  • Work with e-mail systems and clients such as MS Outlook
  • Image computer systems using the standard HSC computer images.
  • Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Analyzing, repairing, and upgrading software/hardware for desktop and laptop computers (Windows and MacOS). The COP has users spread across 9 different buildings along with users who work remotely/in the field.
  • Setting up new computer systems, peripherals, and providing training our users
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Install and troubleshoot network printers/scanners.
  • Resolve A/V issues within our classrooms, conference rooms, assist with setting up videoconferencing software/meetings.
  • Document projects and write user instructions.

  • Ability to diagnose and rectify a wide range of computer hardware and software problems.
  • Knowledge of a wide range of computer systems software, applications, hardware, networking, and communications.
  • Ability to install and configure computer systems, hardware, and peripherals.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of community.
