Investment Analyst - Remote

Symetra has an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Investment Reporting Analyst within our Investment Management Team!
About The Role
As the Investment Reporting Analyst you are a key participant in the Symetra’s investment accounting close and reporting cycle. You’ll be an impactful member of our finance team responsible for transforming large amounts of investment data and other information into presentations that tell the story of Symetra’s portfolio.
You will complete portfolio valuation and performance measurement, analyze company results for both internal and external parties, provide support to the investment front office and contribute to projects within the finance department as needed. You understand the fundamentals of investment accounting and reporting requirements, with an ability and interest to take on complex tasks while continuously building your skills and knowledge.
Symetra Investment Management (SIM) was established in 2019 and is a subsidiary of Symetra who is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sumitomo Life of Japan. SIM enables Sumitomo to invest in the U.S. markets and to expand in-house asset management capabilities. SIM is also an SEC-registered investment advisor providing third party investment management to institutional clients.
What You Will Do

• Support the investment performance function and help adhere to, and maintain, procedures that further GIPS®-compliant performance results.
• Produce recurring investment reports timely, accurately, and completely, including monthly portfolio summaries (risk package); reporting for the parent company, clients, daily front office, and board of directors (BOD); and financial results and investment committee slides.
• Coordinate with all levels of investment and finance management across the organization to gather, analyze and prepare internal and external investment financial reports.
• Partner with team members to improve processes and workflows with an emphasis on building value, transparency and sustainability.
• Fulfill ad-hoc requests as they arise.
• Create summary materials highlighting significant changes/events and valuation metrics, to be presented to the Valuation Committee of the Board for their review and approval
• Perform month-end portfolio pricing procedures such as reasonableness and completeness checks, as well as due diligence to ensure accurate portfolio valuations.
• Translate large datasets into meaningful analysis for a wide audience.
• Develop new investment reports, as needed, to gather the impact of current market events or fulfill ad hoc requests.
• Support the investment month-end close and reporting cycles.
• Maintain procedural documentation for assigned areas.

Salary Range: $66,600-$110,900 plus eligibility for annual bonus program
Your Education And Experience

• CFA or CIPM certification or progress towards one is a strong plus
• Experience using Clearwater accounting system
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience
• Confirmed understanding of investments, including fixed income asset classes and alternative investments
• Understanding of investment accounting
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Management Information Systems, Data Science or Computer Science
• Experience in PowerBI, SQL, stored procedures, relational databases, and/or data warehousing
