About the position:


The Associate will play a central role in managing Access to Medicine partnerships in the region, including managing medicine and medical supply donations to the region’s partners. The Associate will ensure effective collaboration between internal stakeholders and external partners to maximize the impact of Americares support.


Key Outcomes:


In the first 90 days, the Associate should be able to accomplish the following key deliverables:


  • Continuous improvement: Start to identify areas for improvement in the partnership management and GIK coordination processes and suggest innovative solutions to enhance efficiency.
  • Partnership management: Successfully familiarize themselves with the entire portfolio of partners across Eurasia and begin to find ways to strengthen relationships with existing partners by initiating and maintaining regular communication, exploration of new opportunities and ways to collaborate.
  • GIK coordination: Effectively manage the process of coordinating GIK donations to the region, ensuring smooth logistics, paperwork, compliance, and timely reporting.
  • Team collaboration: Demonstrate a collaborative and proactive approach by actively engaging with other teams, colleagues, making contributions and providing support in achieving team objectives.
  • Documentation and reporting: Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of partnership documents, GIK donations, and provide regular updates to their supervisor.


In the first 6 months, the Associate should be able to accomplish the following:


  • Deepened partnership network: Successfully identify and start implementing new effective improvements in the GIK coordination process, resulting in streamlined operations and increased value delivered to beneficiaries.
  • Cross-departmental collaboration: Actively engage with other departments within Americares to leverage expertise and resources, fostering a collaborative approach to global program development.
  • Innovative needs-to-donation matching process: Collaborate with partners and internal stakeholders to maximize existing inventory and find ways to attract more targeted products.
  • Stakeholder communication: Establish clear and effective communication channels with partners, internal departments, ensuring timely reporting and feedback.


In the first year, the associate should be able to accomplish the following:


  • By this time, it would be great for the associate to have travelled to the region at least a couple of times to get a stronger familiarity with partners to be able to recommend improvements and make partnerships more effective.
  • Start looking at assuming new cross-departmental tasks and responsibilities outside of the daily routine work.
  • Continuously improve GIK coordination process through data-driven meaningful insights and feedback from partners, optimizing selection, allocation, and distribution of donated resources.
  • Successfully maintain partnerships, resulting in a robust network and enhanced depth of support.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Develop and maintain a shared understanding of partnership expectations with each partner, including the nature and volume of product donations, impact on partner organization of product donations, Americares policies and standards, partner capabilities and other resources available to the partner.
  • Support donor stewardship through effective donation planning, gathering distribution reports, and working with partners to gather success stories.

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with partners, serving as the liaison between the recipient organization and Americares. This requires close and effective communication with partners in each country, at times in different time zones and requires periodic site visits to ensure compliance and to build relationships.
  • Collaborate with other departments within Americares to ensure effectiveness of our support to the partnership and Americares ability to deliver the highest quality service and advocate for the partner.
  • Oversee the process of gift-in-kind donations, including finding the right match, allocations, working with logistics, reporting.
  • Develop and maintain in-depth understanding of local and national health issues through independent research as well as dialogue with each partner in order to inform partner activity as well as decisions regarding areas of growth.

  • You are oriented to feedback, learning and improvement
  • You have 2-3 years in a health program or non-profit experience; international development experience is a plus
  • Russian language would be a plus
  • You have MS Office proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). SharePoint is a plus.
  • You have related work experience
  • You are a problem solver and team player.
  • You pay attention to detail and are highly organized
  • You have US work authorization (required)
  • You have demonstrated ability to manage overlapping tasks, balance priorities and meet deadlines
  • You have an interest in and passion for Americares humanitarian mission
  • You have language skills in at least one of our core languages: Spanish, Tagalog, Hindi, Kiswahili, Haitian Creole (this would be a plus, but is not a requirement)
  • Bachelor’s degree with study experience preferred
  • You are a collaborative/active listener
  • You have the ability to travel internationally, as needed
  • You are a strong communicator with the ability to present information clearly and effectively, tailored to the intended audience; excellent interpersonal skills
  • You have h igh energy; even-keeled temperament
