Internship – Mechanical Engineering (Fall 2023)

Fall 2023 Semester:

• Program Dates: Approximately September 2023 – December 2023

JOB SUMMARY: Intern will analyze engineering data from various sources to develop presentations and engineering drawings/documentation for business planning. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, AutoDesk Inventor, and/or Solidworks will be used in Intern’s work while supporting Engineering and theme park related tasks, including the support of documentation archival.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supports park operations trough engineering records and documentation, calculations, CAD drafting, and more.
• Understands basic engineering practices from request to resolution.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
• Retrieves engineering data and information from MAXIMO and develops Engineering drawings/documentation and PowerPoint presentations of technical data for business planning.
• Learns theory of integrated systems, QC processes, manufacturing processes, and engineering drafting practices.
• Develops an understanding of engineering data collection, requiring field work.

EDUCATION:

• Preferred coursework completed: Math, Physics, Statistics, Dynamics.
• Recent graduates will not be eligible for this program.
• In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Junior or above.
• Preferred majors include: Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering.
• Minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA is preferred.
• An official transcript may be required upon request.

EXPERIENCE: Prior internship experience related to position is preferred.

• Superior written & verbal communication skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Consistent attendance.
• Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities and organization.
• Experience with AutoCAD, AutoDesk Inventor, and/or Solidworks preferred.
• Must be efficient in Microsoft Office Programs including, but not limited to: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
