Job Description
The Disney Decision Science and Integration (DDSI) team is responsible for supporting clients across The Walt Disney Company including Disney Parks, Experiences and Products (DPEP), Disney Entertainment (e.g., ABC, The Walt Disney Studios, Disney Theatrical, etc.), ESPN (ESPN Networks, ESPN+), and Corporate Finance.

DDSI leverages technology, data analytics, optimization, statistical, and econometric modeling to build innovative tools that shape business decisions and drive business value. Key partners to the DDSI organization include Marketing, Finance, Business Development, Research, and Operations. Roles within DDSI develop, analyze, and execute strategies to maximize profitability and improve the value proposition for our Guests, Cast Members, and Shareholders.


Responsibilities:


A Day in the Life...


  • Extract data for analysis, seek out answers to business problems, and look for opportunities to automate processes
  • Support efforts to develop complex yet efficient Tableau data visualizations for the client to support the decision-making processes, as well as design and create source data tables to maximize visualization performance
  • Build and deliver polished presentations to effectively communicate complex concepts, key insights, findings, and recommendations in a concise and actionable manner
  • Build automated data validation processes, monitor those processes, and collaborate with Data partners to resolve data issues
  • Support the development of advanced decision support & pricing engines for Walt Disney Parks & Resorts globally, with a particular focus on Park Revenue Management

  • Knowledge of forecasting and optimization methods and techniques

  • Strategic problem-solving & analytical skills
  • Ability to clearly document technical requirements and processes
  • Experience using Python/ SQL and Tableau
  • Ability to prioritize and set deadlines
  • Experience collecting & analyzing data and reporting on the results


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Knowledge of revenue management
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Experience developing, troubleshooting, and scheduling Python code
  • Able to work autonomously with little direction or guidance
  • Experience in hospitality and/or Resort Operations
  • Experience using hospitality revenue management systems


Required Education:


  • Currently enrolled as a Senior, or graduated within six months (6) months of application submission, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in an analytical field including Computer Science, Computer Programming, Statistics, Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, or other related quantitative fields at an accredited college or university


Preferred Education:


  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Pursuing a postgraduate degree, such as a master's or higher, in a relevant quantitative discipline comparable to those mentioned above, at an accredited college or university.


Additional Information:


  • Must have reliable transportation to/from work
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be enrolled in a college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within the past six (6) months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney program
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization


Program Length:


  • The approximate dates of this internship are September 2023 through January 2024. Interns must be fully available for the duration of the internship.
