Internship, Universal Creative - Interactives Design (Fall 2023)

Fall 2023 Semester:

JOB SUMMARY: Intern will support the Advanced Technology Interactives (ATI) Interactives Design Team in ideation, development, and testing of interactive experienced for themed entertainment. Intern will gain hands-on experience working on active projects in the Creative Studio as well as gain working knowledge of interactive and gaming applications in the themed entertainment industry.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Designs and presents interactive program pitches.
• Organizes interactive elements into digestible formats such as slideshows and spreadsheets.
• Participates in blue sky brainstorming sessions.
• Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
• Creates documentation for interactive experiences.
• Develops and assists hosting interactive play testing experiences with other Universal team members or guests.
• Assists with development of prototypes in game engines and on paper.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

• Minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA is preferred.
• Recent graduates will not be eligible for this program.
• Preferred majors include: Digital Media, Interactive Media, Themed Entertainment, Theater, Game Design, Game Development
• An official transcript may be required upon request.
• In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Sophomore or above.

EXPERIENCE: Prior internship experience related to position is preferred.

• Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities and organization.
• Consistent attendance.
• Experience in interactive development (games, apps, themed entertainment, interactive theater) required.
• Superior written & verbal communication skills.
• Work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to deadlines.
• Ability to work autonomously and/or in teams.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Must be efficient in Microsoft Office Programs including, but not limited to: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• This internship will be a hybrid experience, based in our Orlando offices.
• Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university, and must have a graduation date later than December 2023.
