Job Description


The Instructional Designer, Learning & Development supports the development, design and delivery of learning experiences for all employees. This role works collaboratively with other members of the Learning & Development Team, the larger Human Resources department, and other training content stakeholders, as necessary, to assess and meet training needs.


Design & Development 60%


  • Work with Subject Matter Experts to identify target audience’s training needs and content
  • Ensure consistent tone and brand of training content and messaging
  • Design online training courses and instructor-led classroom training, identifying methodologies to be used to deliver content and organizing the content and flow of information
  • Partner with Senior Instructional Designer to define overall curriculum design and program structure, outlines and learning objectives
  • Create and adapt content for multiple possible delivery settings, including classroom training, e-learning, blended learning and webinars
  • Create learning tools that are accessible to multiple learning styles (for example: visual learners, hands-on learners, auditory processors, etc) in order to appeal to a diverse audience
  • Conduct instructional research and analysis on learners and contexts
  • Run overall projects to ensure a consistent training experience that explicitly meets set objectives for employee success
  • Assist with development of new training courses and materials
  • Create engaging and interactive learning solutions focused on professional and leadership development, but not excluding specific functional skill learning using a variety of instructional methods and modes


Facilitation 15%


  • Co-facilitate and support Learning & Development team members with live in-person or virtual classroom learning sessions
  • Facilitate live in-person or virtual classroom learning sessions


Implementation & Evaluation 15%


  • Proactively find and offer solutions and revisions to existing content, as necessary
  • Assist in measuring training effectiveness for delivered courses
  • Solicit and compile feedback from learner groups for the goal of continual improvement of training offerings


Learning and Development Support 10%


  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned or directed
  • May support other Learning and Development functions as room set up and set down, training registration and other general training support needs


Qualifications And Other Requirements


Education (Minimum):


A Bachelor’s degree in adult learning, instructional design or other related area preferred, or equivalent combination of education and work experience required.


Experience


3+ years of work experience in Instructional Design/Training


  • Experience in template development and document branding
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including ability to collaborate with subject matter experts to design and develop content
  • Experience in developing and facilitating content for adult learners
  • Experience developing skill-based learning content


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Aptitude for communicating authentically and genuinely with vision and purpose, inspiring others to get onboard
  • Adaptability and innovation, with a demonstrated comfort with ambiguity
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Prezi and other presentation/graphics software, such as Publisher; Learning Management Systems, preferably Workday; SharePoint
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment; adaptability in maintaining a positive attitude in a dynamic environment
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to design learning experiences and consistently communicate with a customer-first perspective

Pay Range


$62,900.00-$91,220.00


Salary to be determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
