Role Overview
As a Human Resources Generalist, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our workplace remains vibrant, productive, and employee-centered. Your role will encompass a wide range of responsibilities, from supporting new hires' onboarding to managing benefits administration and fostering a positive work environment.
What You'll Do
HR Systems and Administrative Support:
Collaborate with the HR team to facilitate seamless onboarding processes, ensuring new hires are well-prepared for success.
Keep track of employee changes and updates in our systems to maintain accurate records.
Assist in payroll processing and review timesheets for accuracy.
Manage benefits administration, including open enrollment coordination and communicating plan changes.
Administer COBRA for departing employees, maintaining invoicing accuracy and overseeing payment processing.
Maintain 401K systems and communicate plan changes effectively.
Recruiting Support
Assist in scheduling and coordinating interviews for potential candidates.
Contribute to program planning for various recruitment initiatives, including our remote BIPOC Editorial program and in-person Summer Intern program.
Events And Employee Support
Coordinate special employee recognition programs, including work anniversaries and milestone gifts.
Play a role in organizing annual holiday parties and other employee events.
What You Bring
Bachelor's degree in HR, business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
3-5 years of experience in HR Generalist roles.
Strong decision-making abilities and adaptability to changing business demands.
Solid knowledge of federal and state employment laws, coupled with integrity in handling confidential information.
Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
Familiarity with HRIS systems, experience with ADP Workforce Now a plus.
