Job Description

Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition: Collaborate with departmental managers to create captivating job descriptions and facilitate the hiring of highly qualified candidates. Conduct interviews and maintain regular communication with recruiters to ensure a smooth hiring process.
Employee Benefits Administration: Administer various employee benefits programs and ensure accuracy and compliance. Handle inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors regarding benefits and refer complex matters to senior HR staff. Process Worker's Compensation claims, prepare OSHA reports, and maintain required statistics.
Leave Management and Compliance: Assist with FMLA, NYSPFL, NYS PPL, STD, LTD, leave administration, and benefits. Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Stay updated on the latest HR trends, best practices, and employment law changes.
Onboarding and Orientation: Contribute to new employee orientations and onboarding activities, fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment. Conduct non-retirement related exit interviews and assist with benefit reconciliation and invoicing as needed.
HR Support: Provide generalist support in various HR areas as required. Collaborate with the Ethics Officer to ensure policy adherence. Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills and maintain a high level of professionalism.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred. An Associate degree with 5 years of direct, relevant experience may be substituted.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in human resources and exempt-level recruitment.
Knowledge: Up-to-date knowledge of HR regulations and related legislation is essential. General knowledge of government/public administration is preferred. HR certification is a plus.
Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong presentation abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and a Windows environment. Superior multitasking, prioritization, follow-up, and organizational skills.
