SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:


This role has the responsibility and accountability for supporting every aspect of the employee journey from hiring to onboarding, performance previews, performance reviews, and employee development. Duties will include overseeing the onboarding process of new employees, training company employees about corporate policies and procedures, and providing support to the corporate workforce. Additional duties will involve working with internal communications to help develop the company culture, increase employee value, analyze metrics and provide insights for goal setting. And, to assist with aligning the needs of the employees with the overall mission of the company.

This position will require in office work in Abingdon VA.The expectation would be a hybrid schedule with the majority of time in the office. Some work from home will be a strong possibility.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

•Assist with administering the compensation and benefit plans

•Assist in talent acquisition and recruitment processes

•Conduct employee onboarding and help organize training and development initiatives

•Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves and compensation and resolve any issues that may arise

•Promote HR/People Operations programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace

•Assist in development and implementation of human resource/people operations policies

•Undertake tasks around performance management

•Gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics, like time to hire and employee turnover rates

•Organize annual employee performance reviews

•Organize quarterly employee performance previews

•Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form

•Enhance job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly, applying new perks and benefits and organizing team building activities

•Ensure compliance with labor regulations

•Participates in coaching and disciplinary discussions as required

•Works with management to ensure all job descriptions are uniform and current

•Participates in strategic planning sessions to ensure personnel practices are in alignment with business strategies

•Performs other project work, duties and responsibilities as required or requested




KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

•Proven experience as an HR Generalist

•Human Resources certification – SHRM Certified Professional (SPHR or PHR) preferred

•Bachelor’s degree preferred

•Undergraduate degree in business or human resources or equivalent combination of education and experience

•Outstanding knowledge of of MS Office and HRIS systems would be a plus

•Highly developed interpersonal, presentation, and oral/written communication skills

•Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with management staff, employees, and general public

•Excellent and efficient time management skills and ability to prioritize workload

•Excellent and efficient change management skills

•Excellent people management skills

•Ability to apply and adapt practices and techniques
