As a Human Resources Generalist, you will play a vital role in supporting our employees and addressing various HR challenges. You will be the go-to person for recruitment, engagement, employee relations, training, benefits, and HRIS matters.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, you will be responsible for a wide range of responsibilities, including
We're searching for someone with a wealth of HR knowledge, exceptional critical-thinking skills, and a dedication to providing outstanding customer service and support to our employees. In this role, you will have the chance to thrive in a collaborative setting, manage multiple projects and priorities, and adapt quickly to changing circumstances.
Full-cycle recruitment: From posting job openings and sourcing candidates to conducting interviews and facilitating the onboarding process, you will be instrumental in attracting and selecting top talent. Building strong relationships with candidates, hiring managers, and external partners will be key.
Employee relations: You will help resolve employee relations matters, providing guidance on disciplinary actions and conflict resolution. Your expertise will be invaluable in addressing inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, ensuring a positive work environment.
HR administration: You will maintain accurate and confidential employee data, including health records, using our HRIS database. Additionally, you will assist with benefits administration, develop internal processes, and document workflows to enhance efficiency.
Employee programs and training: You will play a supporting role in managing employee programming, including onboarding initiatives, internship programs, learning management systems (LMS), and training facilitations. You will also assist with employee exits and involuntary terminations.
Compliance and reporting: Staying up-to-date with federal and state employment laws and compliance requirements is essential. You will generate and analyze reports to provide valuable insights and assist in making data-driven recommendations for the department.
Research and best practices: As a knowledgeable HR professional, you will conduct research, stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and changes in employment law and technology. Your findings will help us continuously improve our HR processes and talent management strategies.
Collaboration and support: You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as payroll, to ensure accurate employee data processing. Additionally, you will assist in processing tuition reimbursements, employee verifications, and other inquiries.
Additional responsibilities: You will contribute to organization-sponsored functions and handle other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Broad knowledge of the human resources field, including state and federal employment laws.
Previous experience in full-cycle recruitment within a fast-paced environment.
Strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to thrive in a consultative, collaborative, and cross-functional environment.
Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and organizational abilities with keen attention to detail.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Adaptability and flexibility to manage shifting priorities and workloads.
Education And Experience
Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
Minimum Of Two Years Of Full-cycle Recruitment Experience.
Experience as an HR Generalist is a plus.
Proficiency in MS Office, particularly MS Word and Excel.
Previous experience with HRIS databases, preferably Workday.
Preferred Qualifications
Two or more years of executive-level recruitment experience.
Experience managing full lifecycle employee support initiatives.
Previous work experience in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
Working Conditions
This position is primarily remote, but occasional travel to the Chicago office may be required (up to 20% of the time)
