Location: Horsham, PA

Shift: Monday through Friday – 1st


Internship Program Summary
NMS Labs’ 10-week intern program for undergraduate college students is designed to provide training, exposure, and experience in a key functional area of our business. Interns will work directly with managers and mentors who will contribute to their professional development while helping them build technical and leadership skills. Interns will have the opportunity to engage in leadership development activities, trainings, lab tours, group projects, and networking events.


Internship Highlights

  • There are many advantages to being an NMS Labs Intern, but a favorite will be the TGIF program – every Friday during your internship is a half day!
  • 10-week paid internship designed to give practical, real-world experience while working in a leading forensic and clinical laboratory organization.
  • Interaction with various functional teams and various stakeholders across NMS Labs.
  • The opportunity to work on business specific projects where Interns will gain knowledge and experience to supplement and strengthen their academic skills.
  • Opportunities to participate in group projects and present findings to senior management.
  • Accountability to two teams – your respective department and your intern peer group. Department focused responsibilities will account for approximately 85% of your schedule while 15% will focus on professional development sessions, networking activities, group projects, webinars, community service events, etc.
  • The assignment of challenging projects and responsibilities that foster innovative thinking and strong problem-solving capabilities.

Who you are and what you bring?

  • Strong desire and motivation to develop a career as a future business leader
  • Preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Ability to prioritize workload and self-manage projects, handle multiple tasks, and meet time-sensitive deadlines
  • Detail-oriented and quality focused
  • Full time student completing a bachelor’s degree in Business, HR, or related degree.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel, with overall strong digital/tech savvy skillset
  • Legally authorized to work in the US on a full-time, permanent, and ongoing basis without requiring sponsorship now or in the future
  • Highly motivated student who is ready to apply academic knowledge and principles to an authentic, real-world experience
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • High level of integrity, enthusiasm, and can-do approach
  • Self-motivated, dependable, quick learner who works well with others

What You’ll Do

Title: HR Intern

  • Process improves existing methods such as the monthly newsletter, digital employee files & reporting methods.
  • Provide direct HR support to HR Business Partners, the Recruiting Team, Compensation & Benefits, and Training & Development.
  • Dive into the world of Human Resources through day-to-day tasks like resolving employee issues, participating in recruiting & onboarding activities, executing employee related programs, analyzing people analytics/trends, and assisting with other ad-hoc HR administrative projects.
  • Partner with Recruiting to assist with social media recruitment efforts and work to deepen relationships with colleges and high schools.
  • Own an individual project and/or group project with valuable business impact that you present to senior leaders.
  • Network with your peer interns, participate in lab tours, attend trainings, co-lead a companywide charity event, learn from your mentor, and have fun!

Physical Demands:

  • Moving from one work location to another to sit and stand, sometimes for extended periods of time.
  • Specific vision abilities (with correction) including color vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to talk, hear, stand, reach with hands and arms, and use hands and fingers to manipulate instrument/equipment controls, computer keyboard, office equipment, objects, or tools
