HR Benefits Manager / Generalist

The HR Benefits Manager / Generalist will play an intricate role in the Human Resources team. You will perform professional HR-related tasks while working with employees, members of human resources, and the management team in supporting the operational needs of the organization. You will be a direct report to the SVP of Human Resources.

You will focus on Benefits Administration but may also perform responsibilities in the following areas: Employee Relations, Performance Management, Policy Implementation, Human Capital Management System, Training, Diversity Equity & Inclusion, and Employment Law Compliance. Your role will be integral as Rexford Industrial moves from a PEO to a self-administered payroll and benefits plan. You will oversee the transition and administration of all pay, benefits, and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short and long-term disability, and 401(k) plan.

About The Role:

  • Manage the full life cycle of the benefit plan renewals, including project management of timelines and activities; new vendor, carrier, or program implementations; contracts, amendments, and plan documents; participant communication and education.
  • Transition and administer pay, benefits, and retirement programs.
  • Provide personnel policy and procedure guidance to employees and management.
  • Prepare required and ad-hoc cost model, forecast, and deep analysis for regulatory compliance; financial analysis; internal reporting; projects and strategic initiatives; and for brokers, vendors, and carriers or company partners.
  • Coordinate open enrollments, changes, and training for employee benefits programs.
  • Maintain knowledge of federal and state employment law and compliance requirements.
  • Responsible for the daily administration of benefit plans such as health, flexible spending, health savings accounts, life insurance, and voluntary benefits
  • Manage activities for internal and external audits, and annual compliance (ACA,5500) notices, forms, and filings; coordinate activities and deliverables between internal and external partners and carriers to ensure accuracy and completion in required systems.
  • General HR support as directed.
  • Create and distribute internal communications regarding status changes, benefits, or company policies.
  • Evaluate benefit trends and identify new offerings, risks, and opportunities according to strategic direction.
  • Respond to human resources-related inquiries.

About You:

  • Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) and Human Resources Certification (PHR or SHRM) credentials preferred
  • Extensive knowledge in all areas related to compensation, analytics, benefits, and HRIS
  • Bachelor's degree
  • A proven track record of decision-making based on analytics
  • 3+ continuous years of Human Resources Management experience focused on self-administration of Benefits and Compensation

Rexford Industrial's reward plan includes great compensation packages, bonus eligibility, and long-term stock incentives. The expected annual base salary range for this role is $109,000 to $164,000 with a 15% discretionary annual bonus target and stock grant eligibility.* The actual base salary and total compensation offered to depend on a variety of factors, which include, without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location where the job will be performed. The final base salary and total compensation will be described in any offer letters.

  • These stock grants are subject to approval by the Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors, are currently subject to vesting over a four-year period, with 25% of the grant vesting per year, and require continued employment on the grant date and each applicable vesting date. Actual bonus and stock grants are discretionary based on company and/or individual performance determined by Rexford Industrial in its sole discretion, and the amount of any such bonus and/or stock grant may be less or more than the targets (and may be zero).
