Summary: Reporting directly to the General Manager, the HR Generalist is a key member of the leadership team and is responsible for championing company culture while being the chief “in-house customer service representative” for employees and management alike. This individual contributor role handles the full HR lifecycle including talent acquisition and onboarding, benefit and payroll administration, policy development and performance management, and employee relations.


Primary Duties & Responsibilities


  • Partner with and support department managers with workforce planning, performance management, and employee development.
  • Lead employee relations issues and investigations.
  • Administer all HR functions including payroll processing and leave administration.
  • Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
  • Plan and execute company and employee events, celebrations and service opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
  • Benefit administration for open enrollment and new hires.
  • Act as a business partner and advisor to the Leadership team and General Manager.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Develop and administer key HR policies and processes.
  • Drive recruiting, partnering with managers to attract, interview, hire, and successfully onboard top-level talent in a competitive marketplace.
  • Collaborate with leadership to improve employee engagement, boost morale, and increase productivity and retention.


Critical Skills


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, Spanish a plus.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of all employee and company information.
  • Self-motivated, driven, eager, energetic, and positive, with a passion for people.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and heart for service.
  • Ability to lead and influence people and interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Strategic thinker with problem-solving skills with an instinct to take action.
  • Detail-oriented and well organized.


Requirements


Education/Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but can be substituted with demonstrated experience.
  • HR certificate preferred (PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP)
  • 3+ years of Human Resources experience, manufacturing environment highly preferred
