We are currently seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, and tech-savvy individual to fill our Permanent Help Desk (Level 1) position in our Engineering department. This exciting role is at the heart of our operations, providing first-line technical support to our team and ensuring the smooth running of our computer systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting technical issues, providing timely customer feedback, and supporting the overall functionality of our IT infrastructure. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers a competitive salary and benefits package, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development.


Responsibilities


  • Escalate unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel.
  • Resolve user-reported problems using available tools and following procedures and policies for the handling of support cases.
  • Participate in maintaining and improving our IT policies and systems.
  • Conduct remote troubleshooting and provide clear instructions.
  • Provide accurate and timely logging of problems and resolution for problems in the Service Now system.
  • Assist in the support of Microsoft Teams and other collaboration tools.
  • Document technical knowledge in the form of notes and manuals.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware including desktops, laptops, and associated peripherals.
  • Provide first-level contact and problem resolution for all users with hardware, software, and applications problems.


Qualifications


  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, ITIL, Microsoft Certified Modern Desktop Administrator Associate) are a plus.
  • Ability to explain complex technical issues in a non-technical, simple to understand terms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in Service Now or equivalent IT service management (ITSM) tools.
  • Strong customer service skills with a focus on rapport-building, listening, and questioning skills.
  • Strong knowledge of computers and how to troubleshoot hardware and software issues on desktops and laptops.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a help desk or IT support role.
  • Experience in supporting Microsoft Teams and other collaboration tools.
  • Excellent organizational and follow-up skills; ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
