About Our Client

Our client, a leading venture capital fund is currently looking to hire a Head of People to join their New York office. The fund, which invests across the global emerging technology market is at the center of a vibrant ecosystem. They are well networked and have a strong backing, allowing them to be well set for an upcoming growth phase, making it a very exciting time to join.

What The Job Involves

As the Head of People, you will work in a stand-alone position covering a broad variety of HR, talent and people tasks, everything from strategy and projects, through to people operations and the more day to day administrative tasks. The role will report directly in to the CEO of the fund whilst working closely with the wider internal senior team, to build and deliver a best in class people function. Along with leading the people function across the fund’s global offices, you will also have the opportunity to work with the portfolio companies in an advisory capacity, potentially covering anything from recruitment advice to succession planning. This is a brand new hire for the fund and as such there will be plenty of autonomy in the role to really build and scope it as you see fit.

• Coach founders and people leads within investee companies at various growth inflection points
• Develop and implement the fund talent value proposition
• Optimise people practices to ensure the fund continues to develop world class talent
• Engage with HR analytics, market research and test to learn experimentation
• Design and deliver the end to end people experience across the funds global offices
• Drive an internal high performance culture through people values and purpose led
• Provide talent, people and HR advice to investee companies as called upon
• Develop and guide leadership capability and ensure team development is supported

Who we are looking for

• HR or Talent generalist experience gained within a high growth, scale up or financial services organisation
• Experience working within venture capital or investor backed tech would be advantageous
• A proven track record of managing HR across multiple office jurisdictions, ideally US, UK and Europe
• Comfortable working with senior individuals and company founders
