How You'll Contribute to the Team


The Growth Strategy and Operations Manager focuses on driving business development operation activities to secure growth opportunities. Reporting to the EVP of New Business Growth, this role is responsible for leading growth operations to include but not be limited to pipeline management, capture management, partner inventory management, and market intelligence responsibilities. Applying sound business judgment, an analytic mindset, and strong project management skills to ensure effectiveness throughout the business development process and operations is at the forefront of this role.


While the role is remote, we currently only hire selected candidates from the following states: AL, FL, GA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, MI, NC, NE, OK, RI, TN, TX, WI.


Primary Responsibilities Include:


  • Optimize CRM for use as a strategic tool; guide implementation, adoption, and continued process improvement. Represent the organization at professional meetings and conferences.
  • Evaluate and modify operational procedures as needed. Create forms, tools and guidelines to capture the required documentation and streamline the exchange of information.
  • Manage and coordinate business development processes, including pipeline development, pipeline management, reporting, and opportunity gate reviews. Participate in status calls to discuss pipeline/capture forecasts, progress, resource needs, and potential risks.
  • Lead corporate growth operations function and drive improvements in business development, capture and planning processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Perform market intelligence activities, including market research, competitive analysis, and capabilities gap analysis.
  • Manage the proposal development process to ensure on-time delivery of compelling, compliant, and well-written proposals.
  • Develop teaming strategy and coordinate teaming arrangements. Lead or support partnership and teaming discussions, assessing the value of potential partners and alignment with customer and solution needs.
  • Function as a subject matter expert on processes and procedural best practices through the provision of high-value administration and operations support to growth teams.
  • Develop and execute capture plans to identify new growth opportunities and gain new business more efficiently.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative research using federal procurement and opportunities data (e.g., Sam.gov, GovWin, BGOV, etc.).
  • Research, gather or develop content for inclusion in proposals or bids. Maintain, expand, and improve library of reusable growth collateral components, templates and processes to reduce response time and improve quality of future bids.
  • Assist in special projects and key strategic initiatives, as needed.
  • Execute and report on innovation and investment initiatives.


Role Specific Requirements Include:

  • Previous experience with public-private partnerships (P3), specifically with the federal government is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to present highly technical information and translate complex concepts into impactful statements for a variety of audiences and levels of sophistication.
  • Proven success managing multiple high-priority projects simultaneously with demonstrated ability to align resources internally and externally to support plan execution.
  • 5+ years professional experience and a minimum of 3 years' experience in growth/sales operations, capture management, and business development. Management consulting experience a plus.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.
  • Proven ability to perform research and analysis (both quantitative and qualitative), build business cases, and formulate business strategies at the individual pursuit level and for the broader market sector. Ability to analyze and synthesize data to form recommendations and actionable insights.
  • Business sophistication necessary to understand the buying signals of large bureaucratic entities across a variety of market segments.
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills necessary to mitigate risk factors and resolve complex or unforeseen conditions amid tight timelines and high client expectations.
  • Computer proficiency, including working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications; Salesforce/CRM system experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Proven ability to manage timelines, delivery, and dependencies in a results-focused environment and influence outcomes without hierarchical authority. Strong project management and cross-functional team management capabilities.
