Graphic Designer / Design Project Manager
Carousel Calendars, based in Austin, TX, is currently seeking a senior designer to join our team and work closely with our UK publishing staff, as well as staff in Austin. As a senior designer, your primary role will involve collaborating with our UK colleagues to select captivating images and prepare press-ready files for our international calendar range. You will also be responsible for overseeing freelance resources and managing product data for these calendars.

over 200 retail stores in the UK operated by our sister company Calendar Club Ltd. We are part
of a successful Austin based family business that has been in business over 30 years and operates over 660 retail stores in the US, known Go! Retail Group.

What we are looking for:
The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in managing design workloads and be proficient in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop. You should possess excellent skills in image manipulation, colour correction, and a strong understanding of Adobe Illustrator. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, has a keen eye for stunning images and inspirational artwork, and can handle freelance resources effectively. Your expertise in preparing files for print is crucial, and strong organisational and project management skills are necessary
As the primary liaison with our UK office, you will play a vital role in the production of a range of
US calendar and dairy products. You will be responsible for the entire process, from initial image selections to ensuring files are print-ready within specified deadlines, in order to meet our print and delivery schedules. Effective administration skills and the ability to coordinate multiple tasks are key attributes for this position.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Create, manage, and distribute product images to customers
- Perform quality control checks on work before printing
- Coordinate and communicate with freelance resources
- Assist with various administrative tasks
- Develop dated products, visuals for new brands, and promotional materials within tight deadlines
- Select outstanding images for our products
- Retouch and colour correct images to ensure high-quality standards
- Manage relevant data on our database
- Effectively manage projects and meet deadlines
- Create digital physical product samples based on requests
Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Effective time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Meticulous and conscientious with great attention to detail
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
- At least 3 years in a Graphic Designer role
- Self-motivated with the ability to organize workflow and meet deadlines
- Competent in administrative tasks, file maintenance, and communication
- Strong Excel and Word
- Adaptability to a fast-paced environment
- Sound understanding of print design
- Strong knowledge of image quality, resolution, size, colour correction, and retouching techniques in Photoshop
- Appreciation for photography and the ability to recognize outstanding images
Flexible working hours:Three days in the office and two days working from home.
