The Grants Coordinator is a key resource in the Department of Neuroscience, providing budgetary and administrative guidance in the preparation, submission, processing, and management of research grants and contract proposals, awards, and agreements for researchers in the department. S/he works as part of the administrative team to support the research endeavor in the Department of Neuroscience and may work on special projects as assigned by the Grants Manager or the Department Administrator.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for budget preparation and projections, data entry and award notices.
- Grants administration for Pre-award assigned portfolio.
- Serves as departmental “SuperUser” and contact person for InfoEd system.
- Responsible for the review and preparation of grant proposal at Department level for submissions to the Grants & Contracts Office of federal, non-federal and foundation proposals.
- Interact with Grants and Contracts Office and Sponsored Projects Accounting.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Review, adjust and correct project budgets to meet project goals and guidelines prior to entry in InfoEd. Ensure all grant proposals requirements such as FCOI, COI and IACUC forms are completed.
- Familiar with Federal Grant proposal guidelines.
- Interact with Faculty and Financial Administrator to advise and ensure compliance with grant applications guidelines and requirements.
- Review and provide Just-In-Time, including Other Support pages, supplemental and amended information to extramural sponsors on above applications.
Requirements:
- MS Excel - Intermediate/Advanced
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
- Experience: 0-1 year of related experience (additional is preferred) in a healthcare environment and have great knowledge of NIH guidelines.
- General computer skills – Excellent
- Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication and comprehension skills at a level generally acquired through professional employment and strong academic history.
- Candidate must have excellent organizational and mathematical skills.

Compensation
The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $58,661.00 - $67,500.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
