The City of San Marcos is hiring for a graduate engineer position within our Engineering & Capital Improvements Department. Our engineers work on a variety of projects including Site Preparation Permits, Public Improvements Construction Plans, and Watershed Protection Plans. They help develop the complex system that is San Marcos, and without them, the citizens and visitors couldn’t enjoy this City and all it has to offer.

This position is scheduled to start after June 1, 2023.
Essential Functions And Decision Making
These positions may include (see job descriptions for specifics):
Providing Development Services Engineering to ensure private development and public infrastructure is designed and constructed in conformance with City of San Marcos requirements.Planning, designing, implementing, and overseeing construction.Serving as engineering liaison.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Salary Is Dependent Upon Qualifications)
If you have your bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from a nationally accredited university, you may qualify for our Graduate I Engineers which start at $70,000/year.
If you have your bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from a nationally accredited university and your EIT certification for Texas (or passed your Fundamentals of Engineering Exam) with 2 years experience, you may qualify for our Graduate II Engineers which start at $75,000/year.
