Job Summary:

The main responsibility of the Government Contract Specialist is to provide support to the Manager of Government Contracting with projects related to government payor contracts including business proposals, new contracts, renewals, and contract integration. The Government Contract Specialist will also help manage the Collateral Database, Contract Repository, and government contract-related communications, analysis, and reporting. Additionally, the Government Contract Specialist will collaborate cross-functionally with colleagues from other departments to ensure contractually established rates are accurately reflected in our internal systems.

Responsibilities:

In collaboration with the Manager of Government Contracting:
  • Evaluate the performance and impact of contracts.
  • Ensure the timely submission of deliverables including business proposals, contracts, renewals, and addendums.
  • Assist with special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Utilize internal data and market research to identify growth opportunities.
  • Leverage business intelligence to advocate for rate increases.
  • Corroborate rates with Finance/RCM to ensure amounts established in contracts are accurately updated.
  • Refine future strategies, processes, and templates.
  • Provide insight to key stakeholders about contracts and potential for expansion.
  • Attend professional development events and conferences.
  • Manage the collection and filing of necessary documentation related to all assigned deliverables.
  • Understand the government contracting process cycle and related business implications.
  • Capture notes and next steps from meetings with team members and key stakeholders.
  • Correspond professionally and promptly to all communications.

Required Skills/ Abilities:
  • Competence to work independently and efficiently with a minimal amount of oversight.
  • Ability to work well within a diverse team and across departments.
  • Capacity to work in a deadline-conscious, results-driven environment.
  • Aptitude for multi-tasking, synthesizing large amounts of data, and adapting to business needs and priorities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Preferred: proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook/Teams/Word/Excel), Adobe Pro, and web-based CMS.

Education and Experience:
  • Preferred minimum 3 years: experience with contracts, business proposals, grant management, or data analytics.
  • Experience in Homecare, Healthcare, Aging, Disability, Social Services, or other related industry preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferred in a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
