The Global Supply Chain Director (GSCD) serves as a key member of the PCC Fastener Division Leadership Team. This leader will combine and integrate their expertise in material flow management with outstanding knowledge of information and financial flow, designing a metrics framework that drives the right behavior, and processes that deliver product availability at the lowest possible cost and working capital levels, ensuring operational efficiency.
The GSCD works closely with all members from the Supply Chain team under the guidance of the Division President.
Core Responsibilities
- Strategize to Improve Productivity, Quality, and Efficiency of Operations
- Minimize Shortages and Keep Costs Down
- Oversee Planning & Scheduling Process to Ensure Manufacturing Productivity and Efficiency
- Source Raw Materials or Services
- Lead, Develop, and Mentor Supply Chain Team
- Develop Purchasing Plan and Strategy
- Coordinate Delivery and Supply Chain Logistics
Essential Functions
- Establish & maintain relationships with Finance directors, department directors (General Manager, plant manager, sales director, supply chain leader, etc.), and their teams to ensure understanding of their needs and to facilitate the appropriate level of challenge
- Collaborate with other buying operation managers and drive continuous improvement to become more effective and efficient
- Provide development and training for talent to build sustainable and risk resilient process.
- Track and report price, delivery, payment terms, supplier quality, claim processes, claim resolution management and other KPI metrics monthly
- Recommend and implement best practice for areas of responsibility
- Develop & implement a continuous improvement action plan. Monitor changes and adjust the plan as needed to sustain performance results
- Identifies and manages supplier collaboration initiatives (e.g. supplier owned inventory, forecast management, electronic invoicing, operational process streamlining, etc.)
- Other duties as assigned.
- Purchase goods by securing price, capacity & service levels in line with commitments to the business and as per the sourcing strategies by applying a wide range of sourcing tools (e.g. negotiation, e-procurement, strategic collaboration, tenders/RFPs etc.)
- Develop, deploy and implement global purchasing strategy to deliver maximum value, leverage and standardization
- Negotiate supplier contracts with core factories to support critical business needs
- Execute supplier performance reviews on a regular basis.
- Identify and execute total cost reduction opportunities
- Ensure effective risk management of the supply base through robust contracts and monitoring of financial and other KPIs. Implement corrective actions as appropriate. Manage all related commercial, financial & ethical aspects of projects
- Provide market and financial insights and inputs to the internal sourcing planning process
- Works with other functions to support new product launches, line extensions, and execution of continuous improvement programs for indirect goods and services in scope for the role
- Ensure compliance with policies, systems & controls
- Implement supplier strategy/shape supplier base. Assess and develop suppliers in order to meet business needs and opportunities
- Lead and support cross function project teams as required to meet or exceed expectation on target costs and time

- MBA preferred, but not required.

- Proficient knowledge of demand planning and supply planning systems/tools. (Syteline, etc.)
- Occasional travel to operations facilities, trainings, customers
- BS degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, Economics, Business or related discipline.
- Presentation skills, ability to analyze and succinctly present data to various functions within the organization (operations and business).
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in Planning and 5+ yrs leading supply chain planning for multiple business units in a high-volume high mix manufacturing environment.
