At Boston Scientific, we’ll give you the opportunity to harness all that’s within you by working in teams of diverse and high-performing employees, tackling some of the most important health industry challenges. With access to the latest tools, information and training, we’ll help you in advancing your skills and career. Here, you’ll be supported in progressing – whatever your ambitions.
About the Role:
Boston Scientific, a global leader in innovative medical solutions, is seeking a Principal Planner to join our Global Supply Chain team. The key focus of this role is our AGENT product line, a transformative product that is a top strategic priority for our division. You will have the exciting opportunity to drive its expansion into the US, China, and beyond. If you are excited about working with a game-changing product, driving efficiency, process automation, and making a significant impact in a globally recognized company, this role is for you.
Purpose Statement:
As the Principal Planner, you will play a pivotal role in the exponential growth of our AGENT product line across multiple global markets. You will lead in creating and enhancing efficient, scalable supply chain processes, tailored to support the rapid expansion of this strategic product line. With a strong acumen for digital adaptation and analytics, you will provide insightful strategies and communicate effectively with all organizational levels. Furthermore, you will harness your wealth of knowledge and experiences, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development within our team.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:
- Lead the development and implementation of new supply chain processes that enhance clarity, alignment, scalability, and efficiency, particularly for the AGENT product line, which is central to our growth strategy.
- Review and understand demand signals from regional Demand Planning/Scheduling. Work closely with Marketing/Customers to identify all known demand sources.
- Embrace the opportunity to spearhead the expansion of innovative new products.
- Monitor inventory performance, recommend improvement strategies, and action findings. Manage expired, excess, and obsolescence reserves.
- As the driving force behind our planning strategies and process development, you'll meticulously craft the terms and conditions for product launches ensuring a seamless and successful introduction to market.
- Utilize your proficiency in Microsoft 365, particularly Excel for automation, analytics, and insights, with the aim of enhancing our supply chain processes. A significant part of this role is to drive digital transformation by reducing reliance on manual spreadsheets and transitioning towards more automated, efficient, and scalable systems. An ability to create VBA code in Excel would be a strong plus, although not a requirement.
- As a Principal Planner, you'll deepen your understanding and keep pace with the dynamic landscape of supply chain management. You'll also take on the rewarding task of sharing your knowledge and experiences, helping to uplift the team and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
While the above responsibilities are central to the role, they are not exhaustive. As a Principal Planner, you'll be instrumental in maintaining and progressing the AGENT expansion and will also be required to lend your expertise to other product lines. We encourage a dynamic and flexible approach, ensuring the company's growth and success across all fronts. Your proactive involvement will be key in navigating the varied and exciting landscape of our business.
What We’re Looking For:
Education & Experience:
- Demonstrated ability to share knowledge, mentor colleagues, and foster a collaborative learning environment within the team.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365, particularly in leveraging it for automation, analytics, and insights.
- 5+ years’ experience in supply chain, materials management, or manufacturing planning.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing new processes in a supply chain context.
- Level 8 Degree (240 credits) in a relevant discipline such as Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or any other relevant discipline.
- Knowledge of Kinaxis RapidResponse or similar supply chain management software would be beneficial but not required.
Skills:
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization, both domestically and internationally.
- Adaptability, flexibility, and willingness to brainstorm new ideas, processes, and procedures.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and make efficient decisions.
