The Vice President of Global Supply Chain is responsible for the strategic leadership and development of the Demand/Supply Planning, External Manufacturing, Distribution/Logistics, and Import/Export Compliance functions globally. This critical role reports to the Senior Vice President, Chief Global Manufacturing and Supply Chain Officer, Manufacturing /Operations and leads a team of 250 full-time employees across Europe, Latin America, and North America.
As Vice President of Global Supply Chain, you will be instrumental in meeting corporate and department goals, while ensuing we deliver customer and business expectations. This role collaborates closely with Commercial, Quality Assurance (QA), Research & Development (R&D), Procurement, and Manufacturing to support the overall Supply Chain functions and ensure teams are working together effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and direction to the Demand/Supply planning team across the Global Organization
- Provide oversight and guidance for all global distribution activities
- Responsible for developing annual budgets for each department
- Mentor and support all function direct reports
- Develop and Initiate cost saving initiatives
- Develop and monitor DC metrics in regard to safety, quality, inventory accuracy, on time performance, productivity etc.
- Develop and implement clear strategies for minimizing risk within the Supply Chain while improving On Time and In Full (OTIF) service levels
- Develop, manage and balance resources across multiple regions and sites
- Manage Import/Export Compliance team
- Import/Export Compliance
- External Manufacturing Team (EM)
- Support all SOX and Compliance related activities in regard to FG inventory and Distribution activities
- Cascade corporate level information and strategic priorities to team
- Champion and participate in regional and global Sales & Operations meetings
- Support relationships with customs and FDA
- Champion all technology and operational improvement initiatives
- Develop and foster relationships with key EMO partners to gain and exhibit influence
- Key point of contact for Supply Chain escalation
- Partner with Procurement for all external manufacturing negotiations
- General Management
- Provide leadership and direction to the Global External Manufacturing team
- Distribution/Logistics
- Provide leadership and strategy for all Global freight.
- Develop and implement strategies for EMO partners in regard to risk and capabilities
- Reinforce the importance of reducing risk through the import export compliance team.
- Responsible for CAPEX requirements for all EMO related activities
- Communicate with executive leadership and commercial leadership to navigate Demand/Supply challenges
- Demand / Supply Planning Team
Requirements:
- Be willing to travel to achieve successful outcomes of up to 25%
- Bring a history of great collaboration/teamwork; have a reputation for successful partnering with internal and external stakeholders
- Have outstanding written and verbal communication/listening and presentation skills; keep demonstrated problem solving abilities and strong organizational skills
- Be pragmatic, solution-oriented thinker who possesses a “can do” and” whatever it takes” attitude, coupled with excellent organizational and communication skills (verbal, written, listening, conveying messages)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain or related field is required, MBA is a plus
- Experience managing contract manufacturing organizations and be familiar with international supply chain architectures including vendor selection, qualification, and contracting.
- Experience managing multi-site Distribution and Logistics Operations in a Global environment
- Have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and influence others, negotiate during situational conflict, and establish the best forward path in the face of competing points of view
- 15 years of experience in Pharmaceutical Supply Chain with hands on experience in the areas of Demand Planning, Supply Planning, EMOs and Distribution/Logistics
- Knowledge with internal warehouse operations as well as 3PL
This position may be available in the following location - Bridgewater, New Jersey
