Summary
In this role, the VP, Lean Leader Supply Chain & Services will lead the ISC and Global Services strategic priority of the application of lean to enhance our customer experience and our operational performance. This person will help understand and prioritize the customer perspective using a lean mindset to define and shape standards with data, analytics and qualitative information. This role leads the Lean agenda for ISC and Global Services, working in partnership with the Segments and Regions to drive the standards for our supply chain and service outcomes. The goal is to positively impact results and culture by establishing standards, institutionalizing daily management processes, and adopting consistent problem-solving methods. This position is the interface to the GEHC lean team.Responsibilities
- Define the roadmap for lean deployments across ISC and Global Services, and the competencies required for execution.
- Understand pain points in the organization and drive progress via Lean. Drive various performance initiatives, including on time installation, on time delivery, clean orders/linearity, service efficiency, etc. to shape program design and desired outcomes. Partner into execution mode.
- Develop lean capability across the spectrum from the tactical (deployment and application of principles, concepts and methods) to the strategic (a transformation that deeply impacts a key value stream).
- Implement and drive DMS for standards across supply chain and services including; daily management metrics, review and problem solving cadence and agenda, process to address KPI and CVD (core value drivers); implementing lean tools and training programs to enable PSP/action planning. Partners with Segment Lean for standards
Qualifications/Requirements
- BS Degree and 10 years’ experience with proven leadership in operations or operations, engineering, commercial/customer or quality
- Proven business/financial acumen, including demonstrated ability to motivate, influence, solve complex problems, and drive change at all levels of the organization.
- Minimum of 7 years mastering a variety of Lean and growth related tools such as Strategy Deployment, Problem Solving, Daily Management, Standard Work, VSM/Process mapping
- Willing to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of time
- A record of proven results through leadership of cross functional teams and in matrix environment
Desired Characteristics
- Experience in the medical device industry or similar highly regulated environment
- MS Engineering, Supply chain or MBA
- Skill sets and experience in process improvement, lean, project management, solid communication and analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability to successfully collaborate globally, overcoming geographic and cultural boundaries to forge successful working relationships leading to improved business outcomes. Supports a diverse, collaborative, and cross-functional environment
- Proven mentoring and coaching abilities, demonstrated ability to motivate & inspire others. Energizing others by building a connection through personal involvement & trust.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, able to clearly articulate challenging concepts to leaders across all levels, functions and regions
- Experience in equipment or chemical Manufacturing and Capital program management
- Technical Expertise Possess the technical skills necessary to be credible; must have significant practitioner experience in Growth & Lean tools and processes Experience in commercial leadership or OTR
- Clear thinker: Simplifying strategy into specific actions with clear accountability, making decisions with speed & accuracy based on best available information & communicating priorities clearly & concisely
