Global Payroll, Senior Manager (Remote)

Location: This position is remote based in the US

Couchbase is seeking an experienced Global Payroll, Senior Manager for overseeing and managing the company's payroll operations across multiple countries. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing complex payroll systems and have a deep understanding of global payroll regulations and compliance requirements. Roles and Responsibilities:

• Ensuring that payroll processes are accurately executed and completed on time, in compliance with local regulations, and company policies
• Staying up to date with changes in payroll regulations and legislation across multiple countries and ensuring compliance with all requirements
• Manage payroll-related special projects, including payroll system implementations and process improvements
• Providing support to employees on payroll-related matters
• Collaborating with internal stakeholders to develop and implement payroll policies and procedures that support compliance, risk mitigation, and process improvement
• Overseeing relationships with payroll service providers, PEOs, including global third-party service providers, ensuring they deliver high-quality services that meet the organization's needs
• Monitoring and reporting on payroll-related key performance indicators (KPIs) and implementing corrective actions as needed
• Managing a team of senior payroll accountants, providing guidance and support, and fostering an environment of continuous learning and development

Skills:

• Working knowledge of benefits compliance particularly its relation to payroll as a core function
• Subject matter expertise and strong working knowledge of payroll best practices, guidelines and compliance including multi-jurisdictional tax management.
• 10+ years of years of experience processing payroll, including 4+ years managing, full-cycle payroll with multi-entity, multi-jurisdictional organizations
• Strong analytical and financial reporting and MS Excel skills (if statements, vlook-ups, pivot tables, conditional formatting, etc.)
• Strong technical background in payroll and ability to own global payroll function with minimal guidance or direction
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and solve practical problems and be sufficiently adaptable to handle dynamic situations. Customer centric mindset.
• CPP or equivalent certification preferred
• Strong systems knowledge and experience, preferably with UKG
