Freight Broker Agent (Experience Required)

Nav Logistic Inc (NLI) is 3PL with an agent based model. We are expanding our business in the Houston area and are looking for a Freight Broker (Customer Service Representative). NLI utilizes state-of-the-art technology to coordinate, manage and track shipments from point of origin to final destination. We deliver the best in class customer service and support with comprehensive operations all over the US. Our sales force consists of agents and brokers using industry leading TMS, a massive and continuously growing carrier network with financial banking.

You are required to work independently and as part of a team to source/secure customer orders and procure qualified carriers to transport freight in a timely manner while maximizing margins, developing relationships, and minimizing risks.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage the movement of client's goods, ensuring they are picked up and delivered on-time to the client's satisfaction
• Market NLI to customers and carriers by calling business directories, load boards, contact lists, leads, referrals, carrier lists, etc.
• Confer with customers to expedite or locate missing, misrouted, delayed, or damaged merchandise
• Dispatch drivers with a high-level of detail and input all pertinent driver/shipment details into the TMS system and continue monitoring, communicating and updating the Transportation Management System (TMS) until the completion.
• Provide back-up support as needed to other department team members to ensure customer and carrier satisfaction.
• Follow a culture of continuous quality improvement aimed at the highest level of customer satisfaction
• Develop carrier base and negotiate rates in accordance with company policies
• Record all necessary information into applicable software applications.
• Be a problem-solver and solutions-provider to all customers, carriers, and NLI associates.
• Understand and execute NLI’s carrier set-up & compliance procedures & guidelines.
• Maintain sensible business integrity in all business decisions

Education and/or Experience:

• Strong written and oral communication skills
• A minimum of 1 years of experience in freight brokering or freight sales
• Flexibility in dealing with tight deadlines and service sensitive issues on a daily basis
• Team player, someone who can coach others.
• Must have a book of business (customers)
• Strong customer service mentality
• Must be comfortable and confident working in a fast-paced, dead-line driven, stressful environment. Manage multiple projects simultaneously with a sense of urgency
• Good computer skills with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Associates or Bachelor’s degree a plus, but not required
