/ Qualifications / Job Summary
Responsible for developing and executing regional and district strategies for assigned categories and geographies. Oversee supply chain solutions and purchasing programs to ensure adherence to approved quality and delivery standards.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities And Key Accountabilities
  • Collaborates with Regional Vice Presidents and District Managers to determine local branch assortment strategy to align branch product with field strategy.
  • Creates necessary supply chain solutions to allow for more effective purchasing and profitability.
  • Communicates local/regional market direction and competitive intel to field, pricing, category management and external suppliers need to ensure sales team is aligned for national and global markets.
  • Ensures effective product performance within the region; profitability, product penetration, product mix and inventory turns.
  • Manages a team of Senior Buyers and Expeditors to execute strategies for the region/district.
  • Develops commodity strategies in assigned regions to ensure alignment between the national strategy and the district/region business strategies. Oversees the collaboration of building relationships with customers and executing the business needs of the region.
Nature and Scope
  • Solutions require analysis and investigation.
  • Manages a group or team of professional individual contributors and/or indirectly supervises support staff.
  • Achieves planned results by decisions and actions based on professional methods, business principles, and practical experience.
Work Environment
  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
  • Most of the time is spent sitting or standing in the same location and/or there may be a need to stoop regularly or move/lift light material or equipment (typically less than 8 pounds).
Education And Experience
  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally, 7+ years of experience in a related field. May require certification. Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.
