Freelance Production Designer

Qualified candidates will be scheduled for interviews and required to complete a short vetting task for the role. When selected, you will be virtually onboarded and complete non-disclosure and business agreements. Invoices for payment are submitted at the beginning of each month for the previous month’s work and are paid by direct deposit within 30 days.

Below please find a general description of the available role.

Production Designer

• Link content from master InDesign files
• For designated projects, provide setup and design review of PowerPoint or Google Slide presentations.
• Follow strict file naming conventions and file set-up guidelines
• Import and apply/accept/verify Adobe InDesign edits as indicated on PDF proof markups
• Build book files with files in correct order with correct page numbering
• Must complete a vetting task in InDesign via a shared Dropbox folder
• Pour content from Google Docs or Word files into Adobe InDesign, and apply styles provided in shell files/templates or indicated on provided style guides
• Update necessary content in headers, title page, etc.
• Preflight INDD files for printing
• Export book files as PDFs using specified settings
• Lay out large volumes of content — consistency and speed are key in our workflows

Requirements

• Dropbox account and familiarity with local sync features
• Acrobat Pro DC, current version
• Adobe InDesign, current version
• Apple Macintosh computer
• Willingness to work with Slack, Zoom, and other communication tools
