Web Designer

You will be working on the update and upkeep of luxury womenswear brand, Bibhu Mohapatra's, website. This will include but not limited to, the building, integration, and upkeep of Shopify e-commerce into the brand's Squarespace site as well as updating imagery and descriptions of the brand’s latest collections.

The Job Overview

We are looking for a freelance web designer and developer. You will be involved in integrating our current site into Shopify as well as updating the site with all new collection products. As our web designer, you will give ideas to create intuitive, attractive user interfaces to engage customers over our many offerings such as custom looks, limited stock pieces, and more.Your duties will also include linking all products from the updated website to the brand’s Instagram Shop. You will also design layouts and features in the site while balancing the usability, visual appeal, and technical feasibility of the designs.

Responsibilities

• Research and evaluate new design trends while establishing and maintaining design standards and best practices
• Integrate e-commerce into brand's website via Shopify
• Update website with latest collections and updated press features
• Link all products from website to the brand Instagram shop
• Design user friendly layouts for mobile, tablet, and desktop devices

Job Qualifications and Skill Sets

• A strong eye for visual design and composition
• Proficiency with Squarespace and Shopify
• Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
• Understanding of marketing, production, website design, corporate identity, product packaging, advertisements, and multimedia design
• Experience with computer-aided design
• Experience as a graphic designer or in a related field
• Proficiency with required desktop publishing tools, including Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator
• Bachelor’s degree in design or a related field
• Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio
