Proxima is a first-of-its-kind data intelligence solution that leverages machine-learning and a proprietary database of 50 million unique personas to produce customized audiences that generate superior ad performance on Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Pinterest and TikTok. Proxima’s mission is to significantly reduce the cost of prospecting and thereby bring down the total cost of acquiring new customers allowing brands to either save money on advertising or drive more conversions with the same budget.


The foundation of Proxima was established by our sister product, DojoMojo, a partnership network with over 15,000 brands including Daily Harvest, TheSkimm, Conde Nast, Hearst, Casper, Rothy’s, Allbirds and Warby Parker. The platform empowers brands to find the right partners for co-marketing campaigns, acquire new email + SMS leads at a fraction of the cost of traditional paid channels, and engage with their mobile subscribers through personalized SMS communication.


About The Role


As a Founding Account Executive (AE) at Proxima, you are responsible for bringing in new business from Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) companies between $10mm and $100mm. In order to achieve success in this role, you must have experience managing complex, multithreaded sales cycles and selling SaaS solutions to multiple C-Suite stakeholders.


This role is a key hire for Proxima which means this role comes with great opportunity and responsibility. The AE will be the forefront of our brand, our sales funnel, and our boots on the ground. We anticipate this person to quickly become successful which will enable the Sales organization to grow. Growth naturally will open up opportunities for the AE. The Founding AE will be reporting directly to the Director of Sales and working very closely with the CEO & Founder If you like seeing the direct impact your work has on a business, this is the role for you.


A few things you'll be doing include


  • Learn the marketing and advertising technology domain to understand how Proxima’s technology can be applied to your customer’s advertising operations to efficiently grow their business
  • Strategic Thinking: Systematically solve problems and hypothesizes possible pain points and implicit needs
  • Collaborate effectively with the sales and product, and to improve our value proposition and analyze our sales process
  • Communication: Tailor communication to the customer’s needs with confidence; effectively delivers “memorable” presentations leveraging storytelling skills
  • Understand your customer’s marketing and advertising strategies to develop the highest impact plan for adopting Proxima’s technology
  • Develop accurate forecasts and meticulously manage sales activity in CRM (Salesforce.com experience a plus)
  • Networking: Identify the right customer stakeholders and builds connections quickly to drive consensus for deals; works cooperatively with internal team for deal success
  • Apply consultative and value-based sales approach during customer engagements to uncover customer success and ROI opportunities
  • Close new business delivering subscription revenue against quarterly and annual targets
  • Build and manage a robust pipeline of new and expanding businesses that will support quarterly and annual goals.
Who You Are


  • Experience selling complex SaaS solutions to senior and C-level executives
  • Experience selling into Marketing departments and/or have experience in the advertising technology space a plus+
  • Ability to manage a complex sales cycle with multiple stakeholders and decision-makers that span across different business lines
  • Experience: 2-3 years of closing experience in an outbound sales environment
  • Tools: Experience working on the following platforms: Salesforce, Salesloft, Excel/Google Sheets, LinkedIn, and ZoomInfo
  • Passion for customer success with the ability to communicate that passion effectively in person and over the phone
  • Bachelor’s Degree

Base Salary for this role: $80,000 - $120,000 not including bonus/commission.


The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for this position. The actual base salary offered for this position will depend on numerous factors including individual performance, skills and experience. The base salary is just one component of Proxima’s compensation package which includes a wide range of medical, dental, vision and other benefits, as well as equity.
