Fleet Manager

We are seeking an experienced Fleet Manager to oversee and organize our fleet of vehicles and equipment. This is a unique opportunity to build a fleet management program from the ground up. You will be in charge of selecting the systems we use for tracking vehicles, managing repairs, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the current fleet manager, who will report directly to you.
• Coordinate with on-site project managers or personally be on-site when needed.
• Regularly travel to various project sites, especially during the implementation and organization phase.
• Oversee, manage, and track a fleet of approximately 125 vehicles and 75 pieces of additional equipment.
• Develop and implement a robust fleet management program, including tracking systems and repair schedules.
• Ensure Department of Transportation (DOT) compliance, including maintenance scheduling.

Job Requirements:

• Open to frequent travel, especially during the initial six months.
• Ability to manage in remote locations, often outside of major cities.
• Self-managing and able to coordinate with on-site project managers.
• Proven experience in managing a fleet of vehicles and equipment.
• Familiarity with DOT compliance and maintenance schedules.

Travel: While this position is remote, it requires frequent travel to set eyes on our assets, especially during the initial implementation and organization period. You won't be away for weeks at a time, but you should be prepared to travel quickly to different projects as needed.

The successful candidate will be an ambitious, self-starter with a talent for leading in a dynamic environment. You must be comfortable creating systems where none currently exist and improving upon past attempts. We are not in search of someone who needs to be told where to be; we need a leader who knows where they need to be based on the projects at hand.
