Job Summary: Responsible for developing and executing Integer’s transportation strategy with focus on meeting and exceeding cost and quality of delivery goals for all Integer locations. The Transportation Manager will work closely with logistics partners, suppliers, and internal cross-functional stakeholders to troubleshoot issues, evaluate transportation data trends, develop innovative improvement solutions and execute implementation. Position requires close collaboration site Supply Chain and Operations teams.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

• Adhere to Integer’s Values and all safety, environmental, security and quality requirements including, but not limited to: Quality Management Systems (QMS), Safety, Environmental and Security Management Systems, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, company policies and operating procedures, and other regulatory requirements
• Make recommendations for information technology solutions, reporting tools, or ERP functionality enhancements to optimize transportation business processes.
• Closely monitor network and site freight KPIs (plan vs actual) identifying gaps and developing countermeasure to ensure achievement of the plan. Drive root cause analysis and corrective action work.
• Accountable for monthly freight reviews with Integer sites and external logistics partners. Frequently monitor on-time performance, carrier/provider performance, claims resolution, as well as process improvements.
• Work with Third Party Logistics providers, suppliers, and sites to ensure domestic and international shipments are executed at the required service levels.
• Use project management skills, including root cause analysis, cross functional facilitation to lead transportation strategies to successful implementation.
• Coordinate network assessments and define strategy focusing on logistics total cost reduction and service level improvement. Provide cost/benefit analysis for proposed network changes (footprint, consolidation, etc.).
• Other duties as assigned.
• Manage logistics partner (3PLs, carriers, etc) evaluation programs. Conduct regular performance reviews, establish improvement expectations and follow up on progress meeting those.
• Effectively coordinate and integrate process improvements across all Integer sites.
• Develop standard policies and procedures to ensure compliance with logistics management principles and practices and applicable laws, rules, and regulations, monitor compliance with these areas.
• Collaborate with site and other cross functional teams to identify transportation issues/risks and implement solutions that drive cost/efficiency improvements and risk mitigation strategies.
• Support day to day transportation and logistics issues as needed.
• Regularly review market data to drive cost savings across all modes of transportation.
• Manage commercial relationships with external logistics service providers (3PLs, carriers, warehousing, custom brokers and audit/payment partners). Lead RFP’s, conduct cost analysis and negotiate contracts to secure the safest, fastest and most cost-efficient transportation network.

Education & Experience

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Minimum Experience: 5 years of experience in logistics, transportation management in multi-site global manufacturing or distribution company.

Knowledge & Skills

Specialized Knowledge:

• Experience managing total transportation networks including freight forwarders, warehousing & logistics providers.
• Experience working with a wide variety of transportation & logistics related aspects (i.e., 3PL, lead-time reduction, network optimization, network consolidation).
• Strong knowledge of all international and domestic modes of transportation, especially Small Packaging, LTL and Air shipments.

Special Skills

• Good negotiation skills and experience negotiating and managing logistics contracts.
• Demonstrated track record of developing and implementing transportation strategies resulting in significant financial and operational improvements.
• Demonstrated track record of cost reduction is required.
• Must have project management experience including root cause analysis, cross-functional mediation and facilitation.
