Position Overview

Responsibilities & what we are looking for

This position will be responsible for all accounting operations, period close, financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliation, budgeting, and forecasting. The successful candidate must enjoy working with data but also understand the business implications of the data and communicate recommendations to senior management. We are looking for an enthusiastic, organized, highly analytical and detailed individual that can work with minimal supervision supporting business activities in the US and Mexico.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial analysis of direct and indirect expenses.
• Guide decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
• Mange and oversee all financial and accounting activities, including month-end close, monthly forecasting, financial reporting, external audit and tax and annual budget.
• Facilitate and lead the monthly review of GP to ensure recorded transactions are accurate and reflective of expected/normalized results.
• Liaise with group accounting team to ensure corporate governance is adhered to locally.
• Supervise and mentor the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
• Liaise with auditors, tax consultants and external stakeholders to support audits and regulatory compliance in the US and Mexico.
• Manage and oversee all aspects of 3rd party agents and intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements and professional standards.
• Manage and oversee accounting operations, including G/L and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Develop internal controls guidelines, policies and procedures for accounting operations, cash and credit management, financial reporting, and annual budget.
• Close Process: Managing the Month End Close process to ensure accurate and complete financial statements.
• Manage cash flow, working capital and financial risk to support the company’s strategy.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in financial operations and reporting processes. With focus on strategic initiatives to include consolidation of ERPs, credit control, comprehensive collection tool, E-invoicing, and others.

Qualifications And Experience

• Flexible, adaptable, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
• Ability to work independently, multi-task, prioritize, and have strong time management.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting, with 3+ years in a leadership role within a logistics industry.
• Ability to influence others and build consensus using good written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and financial modelling skills.
• Confident at working to deadlines.
• Advanced experience with ERP systems; MS Dynamics and/or Cargo Wise.
• Advanced Excel and database skills.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field: master’s degree or CPA certification preferred.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment inherent to logistics.
• High degree of accuracy.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance standards.
• Exceptional interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills required; Spanish bilingual is desirable.
