Pay Range
$36.50 - $47.28 Hourly
Please note that the pay range information is a general guideline only. Many factors are taken into consideration when setting starting pay including education, experience, the external labor market, and internal equity.

We’re looking for a Facilities Logistics Coordinator to support the safe and efficient operation of facilities, which may include offices, industrial facilities, scientific and research laboratories. Under general supervision, you will perform technical and administrative duties in support of tenants, program deliverables, and facility operations or similar facility support activities. These positions are in the Facility Management Division of the Infrastructure Engineering and Operations Department. This position may require work at Site 300 located in Tracy, California.

You will

  • Participate in facility assessments, walk-throughs, inspections, and work observations for compliance with security, Environmental, Safety, & Health (ES&H) policies, and good housekeeping practices; report any hazard, potential hazard or other areas of concern observed and suggest possible solutions to the Facility Manager (FM) and program personnel.
  • Interact with personnel of all levels such as supervisors, security, and other service providers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Solve moderately complex logistics and technical problems and exercise decision-making using established guidelines, techniques, and procedures.
  • Provide shipping and receiving services, and track materials and supplies to support customers; maintain supply inventories and storage systems.
  • Plan, initiate, and coordinate the scheduling of various infrastructure improvement projects such as, meeting and event set-ups, workplace re-configurations, office moves, laboratory equipment moves, and installations working with technical/facility personnel to develop and implement standards and specifications.
  • Communicate on a daily/weekly basis with FMs, Area Facility Operations Managers and facility point of contacts regarding the weekly schedule of activities.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of safety practices as they apply to office, research, and industrial facilities.
  • Valid California driver’s license with the ability to operate a 1/2- or 3/4-ton pickup, 2-ton flatbed truck with lift gate, industrial fork trucks and ability to obtain a fork truck operator’s license.
  • Associate degree in a related technology area or equivalent combination of education and related experience
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively and respectfully with coworkers, all levels of management, and other organizations.
  • Experience and knowledge with personal computers, Word, Excel, and support systems used within facilities management.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment, with tact and diplomacy and demonstrated organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills; proven interest and ability to independently and proactively acquire new knowledge and skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge of the standards, procedures and techniques related to facility coordination, and of inventory, material flow, and recording of information; knowledge of checklists, spreadsheets, and various tracking documents.
  • General technical skills, knowledge, and experience planning, initiating, and coordinating the scheduling of various infrastructure improvement projects.
  • Experience initiating and coordinating work orders and handling multiple assignments with frequent interruptions and conflicting/changing priorities while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
  • Working knowledge of and experience associated with material handling techniques and experience operating material handling equipment.
  • Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.

Site 300

Site 300 is an experimental test site operated by LLNL. Situated on 7,000 acres in rural foothills approximately six miles southwest of downtown Tracy and 15 miles southeast of Livermore, Site 300 hosts approximately 200 employees with expertise in such fields as engineering, chemistry, biology, and environmental restoration. Employees assigned to work at Site 300 may be exposed to the organism that causes San Joaquin Valley Fever (coccidioidomycosis).

Security Clearance

This position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance. If you are selected, we will initiate a Federal background investigation to determine if you meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter. Also, all L or Q cleared employees are subject to random drug testing. Q-level clearance requires U.S. citizenship.
