Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
The Facilities Coordinator will assist with managing various aspects of the IBBR research facility including but not limited to material sourcing and procurement, budgeting and expenditure tracking, work order management and environmental compliance.

Reports to the Director of IBBR Facilities and Lab Services with matrix responsibilities to shop supervisor(s).

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:
Three (3) years experience in facilities administrative work.

Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience, and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent computer skills and experience tracking and analyzing data using information systems reporting tools such as Excel. Efficient with all Microsoft Office products.
  • Working knowledge of KFS financial systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of maintenance techniques, scheduling and safety management.
  • Expert-level knowledge of the TRIRIGA work order management system.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion and tact.
  • Working knowledge of Maryland Department of the Environment and EPA air quality requirements.
  • Ability to work in and contribute to a continuous improvement organization.
  • Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Working knowledge of facilities management principles and practices.
  • Ability to work independently and/or as a part of a team.
  • Ability to prepare and present budgetary, accounting and other reports and schedules.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

Preferences:
Experience in working in institutions of higher education and research labs.

Additional Certifications:
Incumbent may travel on/off campus as duties may require. While a license is not required for this position, if the incumbent is driving a State vehicle, must possess and maintain a valid Maryland Class “C” driver’s license or equivalent with fewer than 6 points.

The hiring range for this position is $45,400- $56,750.
