Position: Fabric R&D Manager

Location: New York, NY

Salary: $70k – 80k + Bonus

Fashion company based in Midtown seeks a Fabric R&D Manager to join their team!

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Source fabrics at a competitive price point, from full-price mainline dresses to off-price and megastores like Walmart & Costco

· Coordinate all the protos and SRS yardages from the mills to factories in China

· Managing the proto and SRS yardages and update the design team and factories

· Work directly with design and product development to develop new fabrics

· Work with photo studios to coordinate CAD services

· Partner daily with designers, product developers and merchandisers to work through material and construction issues

· Develop and maintain relationships with mills and suppliers to ensure successful business partnerships

· Collaborate between brands, mills, and suppliers to meet calendar deadlines surrounding fabric and trim development and bulk lead-times

· Manage and maintain of pre-development work-in-process (WIP) and bulk production WIP

· Timely schedule fabric handoffs with all pertinent information – swatch, mill card info, CAD with correct layout, repeat and measurements for yarn-dyes and prints color standards

QUALIFICATIONS

· 3+ years of relevant experience in a similar position for a fashion company.

· Knowledge of Production Systems, such as AS400, Blue Cherry.

· Working knowledge of production processes, shipping documents, trims, and vendor correspondence.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office
