Job Description
Walt Disney Television is seeking a forward thinking, motivated, Assistant who is interested in gaining invaluable business experience and the opportunity to hone their HR skills by supporting two Human Resources Executives. The ideal candidate will possess a polished, proactive, resourceful and flexible demeanor, and successfully manage this role by applying critical thinking skills and developing strong partnerships throughout the organization.


Responsibilities


  • Provide high caliber general administrative support to two HR executives and team (answer phones, schedule meetings/conference rooms, organize files, make travel arrangements, process expense reports, order supplies and process invoices, respond to inquiries, etc.);
  • Set priorities, meet deadlines, and follow up on assignments with a minimum of direction;
  • Maintain accurate and timely department lists (email, office phone, cell etc);
  • Create a positive environment for all who interact with the office and team;
  • Fully participate in managing the workflow of the office in a timely and effective manner (ownership of projects, basic research for ad hoc projects, and reports)
  • Work closely with the executives to manage the calendar and time successfully and tactfully (proactively manage calendar; anticipate issues and resolve promptly; identify applicable materials/files for meetings);
  • Other miscellaneous duties and projects assigned, as needed.
  • Proactively analyze, make recommendations, and resolve office administrative and procedural challenges;
  • Utilizing relevant technologies, develop and maintain a highly effective and efficient follow up system;
  • Maintain standards of strict confidentiality with respect to all matters and documents;
  • Work with HR Business partner team to creatively solve problems and assist clients with requests, workflow, and questions;


Basic Qualifications


  • Ability to take on and manage projects for the HR team;
  • Ability to manage complex office administrative work requiring the use of independent judgment and initiative;
  • Approaches work with a strong sense of purpose, competence, authority and compassion;
  • Consistently applies critical thinking to understanding and resolving issues;
  • Strong people skills, including the ability to collaborate exceptionally well with executives, staff, external associates at all levels, and as part of a larger departmental team;
  • Strong computer proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, or Workday a plus;
  • Ability to be flexible with work schedule. Some overtime required.
  • Ability to make decisions when there is a lack of information and the ability to change course of action quickly;
  • Highly skilled in meeting deadlines, prioritizing work, and driving quality results;
  • Maintains a positive, professional demeanor under pressure and is resourceful and flexible;
  • Approaches work with a high degree of organization, attention to detail, and strong follow-up skills;
  • Demonstrated experience supporting an executive office as a highly collaborative and well integrated partner;
  • Effective communicator, both verbally and written;


Preferred Qualifications


  • Previous administrative support experience working with senior level executives.
  • Previous experience in Human Resources


Required Education


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience


The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $60,352.00 to $80,960.00 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
