Consilium is a dynamic, boutique, corporate / M&A law firm seeking experienced and talented professionals who can partner with us to help good people do difficult things with integrity and trust. Our current need is for an executive assistant and business manager. This team member will be responsible for working directly with the managing member of the firm to:
- Communicate with and meaningfully serve the firm's clients, employees, and independent contractors
- Manage the firm's technology initiatives, hardware / network infrastructure, software and related licenses, data privacy and security protocols, and vendor relations
- Manage other aspects of the firm's back-office administration and operations
- Develop and advance strategic initiatives of the firm, including the firm's growth initiatives
- Develop and implement marketing and business development initiatives of the firm
- Manage the firm's human resources, human capital, recruiting / hiring, benefits, and personal / professional development initiatives; interface with the firm's PEO, and manage the firm's payroll and benefits programs
- Be a community advocate for the firm, and a goodwill ambassador of our brand
- Manage the firm's finance, tax, and accounting functions, including timekeeping, billing, invoicing, collections, and expense reimbursement and recovery; interface with the firm's outside advisors
- Forecast the firm's needs for space; leasing activities, interface with landlords, and manage utilities
- Manage the firm's insurance program
We are not a traditional law firm, but a unique brand providing legal services to clients with businesses valued in the $10M to $100M range. We are professionals, artisans, craftsmen, and genuinely good folks who love to serve others and meaningfully contribute to the advancement of our client's interests.
The right candidates will be self-starters; hungry for opportunity, growth, and problem solving; dedicated to joining and playing a meaningful role on a small but intimate team; have a big-picture perspective, but also the creativity and know-how to advance important initiatives at the tactical level; have courage, character, and strong interpersonal skills; be spiritually grounded and emotionally mature; have a growth-mindset, and understand where they are on the trajectory of their career and in their personal lives; and be balanced and healthy.
In exchange for your time and service, our interest is in serving you, rewarding you, and investing in you, in kind. This position will begin on a contract basis, and the ideal candidate will contribute 15-20 hours of services to the firm per week. The right candidate will transition to part-time employee, and if agreeable to each of us, full-time employee, after the candidate's first year of service. Compensation for the contract period is negotiable based on the candidate's skills and experience. We envision that compensation will be set between $50 - 100 per hour for the contract period (approximately $40,000 to $100,000 annually). If the candidate ultimately becomes an employee of the firm, the candidate can expect to receive a salary commensurate with the employee's position, title, duties, and responsibilities at that time. Full-time employees of the firm receive a full-complement of benefits in addition to their base salary, including health, dental, and eye insurance with a portion of the monthly premiums subsidized by the firm; the ability to participate in the firm's 401k plan, which may include matching or safe harbor contributions; a robust training program, and personal / professional development that will challenge, grow, and refine the candidate spiritually and emotionally, personally and professionally; and a broad range of other perquisites that continue to evolve. The firm's business manager will receive a firm laptop computer, and will - at the outset of the relationship - be expected to perform all services remotely, with regular interaction with the managing member, but limited supervision. As the candidate's relationship with the firm matures, in-person meetings, in-office days, and hybrid work arrangements will be necessary and discussed. For that reason, we are seeking candidates who are located in and around the Metropolitan Atlanta area of the United States of America only.
We are an ambitious and energetic group that is deeply passionate for life beyond the status quo. Our work isn't all of who we are, but it's an important expression why we're here. We are looking for the kind of team members with whom we can partner for no less than a decade to build something special. Only serious candidates with at least ten years of administrative / business management experience should apply. We thank you in advance for your interest, and we look forward to considering your application.
