Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is looking for Epic Supervisors/Project Managers to join their amazing team for the journey to a new, world-class Electronic Health Record (EHR), Epic Systems Corp. (Epic). Epic Supervisor/Project Managers provide supervision and technical direction for the design, implementation, administration, maintenance and support of multiple Epic modules within the new EHR and supporting technologies.
The Epic Supervisor/Project Manager will be assigned to one of the following modules:

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Vaccination Requirement: Per the December 24, 2021 updated CA State Public Health Officer Order, all workers who provide services or work in facilities described in subdivision (a) of the order, including clinics and doctor offices, must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. In addition, CDPH Public Health Officer Orders updated on February 22, 2022 requires all workers in health care settings currently eligible for boosters, who provide services or work in the impacted facilities must be "fully vaccinated and boosted" for COVID-19 by March 1, 2022. Vaccination Exemptions: Upon hire, candidates will be required to submit proof of vaccination including the booster dose or request an exemption from the vaccination and booster requirements based on either religious belief or medical reasons.
Background: Applicants selected for this position must pass a background investigation and medical examination including drug screening.
Training: Training will be provided online and administered at an ARMC and/or County training facility. Applicants will be required to report to the worksite for in-class training for up to 8 hours a day while adhering to COVID-19 safety/social distancing protocols.
License: A valid California Class C driver license and proof of automobile liability insurance is required at time of hire.
Certification: Applicants will be required to pass an Epic Certification. The incumbent will have 3 attempts or 90 days from the date of hire to obtain certification. The Clinical Informatics Department in collaboration with the Epic Executive Team will reserve its right to extend beyond 90 days if the core training class schedule falls outside the 90-day hiring period. If certification is not obtained after 3 attempts or by 90 days of hire or the dedicated extended time allowance, the incumbent's employment will be terminated. All applicants must attach a copy of their Epic Certification if currently certified.
Travel: Applicant may need to travel to Wisconsin by airplane for training on an as needed basis. Travel expenses will be paid for by San Bernardino County.
Minimum Requirements
Education: Thirty (30) semester (45 qtr) units in information technology, business administration or a closely related field (Bachelor's degree preferred) from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Four (4) years of experience on an Epic team doing system build, system configurations or similar for a large organization.
Substitutions
  • One (1) year as a lead in an IT setting or similar may substitute for 2 years of the required experience.
  • One (1) additional year of qualifying experience may substitute for required education.
Epic Certification may need to be obtained depending on module assignment.
Desired Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have an Epic Curriculum Certification or Security Certification and experience supervising a team with continuous system updates and system build for an electronic health record system at an acute care facility.
Selection Process
There will be a competitive evaluation of qualifications based on the information provided in your Application and the Supplemental Questionnaire. Applicants that are placed on the eligible list will be required to take a Logic Test provided by EPIC and hosted by San Bernardino County. The most highly qualified candidates will be referred to the department for an interview.
