Position Overview
We are hiring 4 EPIC Install Consultants (EIC) to provide at the elbow go-live support and post go-live optimization support to our new Acute Care OCHIN members installing the Epic System, traveling up to 75 – 80% of their time to each new install. The EIC will also provide on-the-spot coaching throughout the first two weeks of go live. The ideal candidate will have in-depth Epic Inpatient system knowledge to help identify and inform potential build issues and be a change management champion in high impact situations.
The EIC will also provide value-add assistance to healthcare clinics, giving input to the management and improvement of OCHIN’s recommended workflows, and promotes a culture of improvement and learning via all interactions with OCHIN’s members.
Essential Duties
- Customers requiring assistance in the following areas: clinical, ancillary, front desk, billing, and reporting
- Provide consistently excellent customer service in identifying and responding to workflow-related support tickets
- Troubleshoot all new member support tickets (JIRA’s) from go live. Identify workflow, build issues, and training needs.
- Help to ensure, improve, and communicate linkages between OCHIN reports and OCHIN recommended workflows
- Serve as a support agent of change management through high stress and high impact situations; understanding the impact of change and how to guides others through it to achieve desired outcomes
- Identify opportunities for additional coaching and support for members and customers based on written and phone interactions
- Meet with clinics virtually and in-person to understand and document current state processes and pain points
- Share with the Project Manager issues for daily meetings.
- Provide coaching regarding best practices to ensure the successful adoption of updated workflows.
- Run the Signal reports on Providers, review what is falling in the work queues. Identify if it is a user error or a configuration error.
- Provide just-in-time coaching to the clinics regarding best practices for mapping and maintaining workflows
- Uphold OCHIN best practices and standards regarding documentation, management, and storage of workflows
- Understand OCHIN Inpatient Recommended Workflows plus each new member specific workflows and their differences.
- Provide one-on-one, in-the-field support for new OCHIN Acute Care members during go-live of the Epic System
- Promote OCHIN Inpatient recommended workflows when working with OCHIN members while also continually seeking opportunities to revise and improve OCHIN recommended workflows
- Aspire to learn multiple areas of Epic Software
- Escalate risks and issues as appropriate
- Configure system such as lab mapping, preference list, or SmartTools and provider personalization. QA any build fixes from the Install Team.
- Identify and escalate build or system issues to the appropriate internal OCHIN department or resource; guide and support the member through the process to resolution
Non-Essential Functions
- Actively pursue continuous learning and professional growth

- Provide optimization to OCHIN membership on workflows
- Contribute to the growth and development of the Optimization Consulting Team
- Escalate risks and issues as appropriate
- Collaborate with internal and/or external partners to ensure effective integration of improvements and to foster organizational learning
- Act as a change agent to foster and support a culture of improvement throughout the organization
- Provide workflow input to training and education materials such as OCHIN Learning Institute (OLI) courses and OCHIN Improvement Guides
- Ability to read and understand run charts and control charts
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in clinical and ancillary, medical billing, front desk, or reporting
- Certification and/or proficiency in Epic Inpatient is preferred in the the following applications ClinDoc, Inpatient Orders, Radiant, Beaker, ASAP
- Experience with Visio or an equivalent process mapping or diagramming software
- Very strong facilitation and change management skills
- Ability to travel nationally 75-80% each month.
- Very strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Experience providing Epic Inpatient Go Live support is required, with a minimum of supporting 3 Go Lives preferred
- Experience with improvement methodologies and tools such as the Model for Improvement and/or Lean
- Experience providing at the elbow (ATE) in at least one the following Epic applications ClinDoc, Inpatient Orders, Radiant, Beaker, ASAP is required
- Experience working with one or more electronic health records (EHRs) in a clinical setting will be given preference
- Excellent interpersonal, intercultural, and customer service skills is required
- Experience with managing projects
- Excellent communicator with the ability to successfully communicate with a wide range of roles and personalities
- Technical aptitude to fully understand and obtain the knowledge required in order to effectively collaborate with OCHIN’s members and customers
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Strong and proven ability to understand, map, evaluate, and streamline work processes in a variety of environments; success managing and updating workflows in a healthcare environment preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, public administration, IT, health informatics, or a similar field is desired
- Ability to act as a coach and consultant within a variety of environments, easily stepping into new situations and clinics and building relationships to drive change and improvement
- Must be able to work effectively with physicians, staff and management under minimal supervision

Base Pay Overview
The typical offer range for this role is minimum ($89,836) to midpoint ($116,786) with the midpoint representing the average pay in a national market scope for this position. Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will consider a wide range of factors directly relevant to this position, including, but not limited to, skills, knowledge, training, responsibility, and experience, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
