We continue to grow our Engineering Staff and are looking for a talented Product Development Engineering Intern to join our team. If you are looking for a way to accelerate your career and be part of a great company, this may be the opportunity for you.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to learn and support other design engineers with new high-power connector and terminal product development activities. This includes experience in important product engineering skills from concept development on to design for manufacturing and through validation testing.

What You Will Do

Concept Design and Development

  • Creates 3D models and product drawings in compliance with Molex Drafting Standards and accepted GD&T methodology.
  • Supports design engineers with all product development phases required to bring automotive high-power connector and terminal concepts into production.
  • Provides hands on experimentation support for Research and Development projects.
  • Prepares presentation material for internal and customer design reviews.
  • Supports other design engineers in interfacing with internal departments (manufacturing, quality, reliability, metrology, sales, product & project management) to ensure design objectives are met in a timely manner. Assists by providing product information, engineering samples and technical advice.
  • Prepares and follows engineering change requests (ECR) per document control procedures.

Production Support

  • Manages sample prototype and early production builds.
  • Supports other design engineers with internal & customer 8D resolution activities.

Design Verification & Product Validation

  • Supports other design engineers with developing design validation plan & report (DVP&R).

Other Duties

  • Brings initiative and creative ideas to address problems and develop new products.
  • Performs other work-related duties as required by management.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Understand, support, and contribute to Molex Total Quality Management (TQM), Quality (QS9000), and Environmental Management (ISO14000) Systems by following approved policies and procedures .

Who You Are

  • In process of completing Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent science degree
  • Ability to commute locally and work on-site year round
