About Easterseals Central Texas

Easterseals Central Texas began in 1937 as the Texas Society for Crippled Children. In 1949, a small building was dedicated as the Austin Cerebral Palsy Center serving a small population of Central Texas residents. Almost twenty years later, we became the Capital Area Rehabilitation Center, expanding our services, programs, and the persons served. Today, our services are focused on multiple areas of care that create successful outcomes for clients from birth to advanced age. Our mission is to change the way the world defines and views disabilities by making profound, positive differences in people's everyday lives.

Our services are only as effective as the quality of the people who make up our team. To achieve our mission, we strive to attract and retain talented and committed staff who believe in our cause. This is why we provide competitive compensation, great benefits, and plenty of opportunities for personal and professional growth.

YOUR LIFE AS A ENTRY-LEVEL BEHAVIOR TECHNICIAN

This full-time teaching position in human services works during the day.

As an Entry-level Behavior Technician with our nonprofit, you're responsible for using Incidental Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques and developmentally appropriate guidance to assist children 6 weeks to 6 years of age. Working under the supervision of a behavior analyst and assistant case manager, you meet with each assigned child in the center on a regular basis. You use a variety of instructional materials that benefit each individual child's attainment of skills as well as provide feedback to management and the child's family on each interaction.

In addition, you regularly collect and graph data and keep accurate, up-to-date data summaries. You report and maintain all client progress reports and documentation while staying in compliance with nonprofit policies as well as other applicable requirements, laws, and regulations. Ensuring confidentiality, you abide by all privacy requirements as specified by referral sources, funders, or other licensing and regulatory entities. You enjoy using your teaching skills to positively impact the lives of your child clients, and you take great pride in the work you do for our nonprofit in this entry-level position!

What We Need From You

  • Ability to work at a desk and computer for a minimum of 5 hours per week
  • Current driver's license and proof of insurance
  • High school diploma or equivalent

A bachelor's degree in behavior analysis or special education is preferred. A registered behavior technician (RBT) certification would be a plus. Experience working with children aged 6 weeks to 6 years or individuals diagnosed with autism is preferred, but multiple factors will be taken into consideration. If you can meet these requirements and perform this teaching job as described above, we would be happy to have you as part of our education team!
