JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Assist research engineering programs needing mechanical design support by collaborating with R&D engineers and engineering support specialists

Participate in meetings and design reviews

Collaborate to address design, material, and component needs; assist in the resolution of issues

Apply engineering knowledge and experience to develop concepts and create robust, efficient solutions.

Prior experience with machine assembly, install, or retrofitting such that a “hands-on” knowledge has been acquired

Working knowledge of design software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks)

At times, design and manage complete machine assemblies while maintaining company design procedures

A Junior or Senior enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering program working towards a Bachelor's degree

Translate product requirements into a mechanical specification and test plan to be used for development

Conduct design analysis and testing, both structural and thermal, to prove design will meet customer requirements

CAD or analysis (FEA) tools exposure, and/or experience in mechanical design or analysis of electronic systems, structures and mechanisms

Must be able to apply the principles of Structural Mechanics to predict internal stresses and structural instabilities

Working knowledge of one programming language

Provide mechanical engineering support for both new product development activities as well as factory support of existing products

Support testing for future site planning to reduce Opex spend

Faciliitate projects around HVAC, piping and other features of our facilities

Coordinate and lead meetings to leadership on program updates

Must be currently pursuing a bachelors, masters, or PhD degree at an accredited university

Actively pursuing a degree or one closely related in Mechanical Engineering

Must be available full-time, 40 hours per week.

Performs other work-related duties as required by management.

Manages sample prototype and early production builds.

This is an on-site position working year-round

Supports design engineers with all product development phases required to bring automotive high-power connector and terminal concepts into production.

Creates 3D models and product drawings in compliance with Molex Drafting Standards and accepted GD&T methodology.

Provides hands on experimentation support for Research and Development projects.

Strong time-management and/or project-management skills.

Assist with the reliability management of bearings, gearboxes, generators, and motors within wind turbine drivetrain systems

Help build and develop the capabilities of in-house repair teams.

Zero to three years of work experience

Excellent verbal, writing, and interpersonal skills

Experience with wind turbines, equipment reliability, bearings, condition-monitoring, or CMMS software is a plus

Verify proposed solutions with CAE simulation and testing
